I'm sure we all already noticed this but everyone copies Nintendo. I mean The Wii console had 3D avatars, and now Microsoft has 3D avatars that you can also use in game(I think its ridiculous that you have to buy clothes). The Wii controller was a hit and started Motion controlled gaming, So now Microsoft is releasing Kinect and Sony is releasing Sony Move. I do admit that Microsoft isn't completely copying them here and is taking a risk with it being COMPLETELY controller free. I know there big companies trying to make money, but come on, lets come up with some new ideas and not rely on Nintendo for them.
The video game industry is built on copying ideas.
The Wii controller could be seen as a spinoff of the eyetoy things.
and now some company will come up saying all of them violated their motion input patent.
Everyone copies id software, I mean how about they come up with their own ideas rather than building on the FPS genre and making it one of the most interactive and comprehensive forms of entertainment in the modern media world :argh: Sarcasm, in case you somehow didn't catch that. :downs:
Technically, Nintendo copied Sony with the Eyetoy.
Sarcasm, in case you somehow didn't catch that. :downs:
The "copying ID" part or the "most interactive and comprehensive forms of entertainment in the modern media world " part?
It's not really that as much as it's just technology moving forward.
So you want one company to stay ahead of every other company? Sorry, but I don't think it'll work like that!
Sony made the Eyetoy before Microsoft's Kinect. Oh wow. It's Sony's move! From 5 years ago!
There quite different in their own rights, nintendo didn't come up with the idea either.
Microsoft isn't COMPLETELY copying Nintendo because it has no controllers but the games are family oriented and the controls will sucks like Wii. Sony on the other hand is just fucking ridiculous.
The "copying ID" part or the "most interactive and comprehensive forms of entertainment in the modern media world " part?
Wolfenstein 3D is what made the FPS genre what it is today (arguably it is the start of what is currently known as the FPS genre) Seldom does media meet the interactivity of FPS games. It is hugely comprehensive, being the video game genre with probably the largest total spending and profit in the world. It has a huge variety in gameplay (from crysis to portal to garrys mod) and setting...
Sony made the Eyetoy before Microsoft's Kinect. Oh wow. It's Sony's move! From 5 years ago!
Thiissss One company creates an idea, another polishes it, another perfects it. Sometimes the company that creates an idea comes back to make it better, as is the case w/Sony.
Nintendo made the revolutionary Wii with motion control, and now Sony and Microsoft are perfecting it. Once you play the Wii, and realize only a flick of the wrist instead of a full punch will work, you start doing that, and the Sony and Microsoft products are making it so you get more interactive.
I think that the playstation move is pretty much a copy of the wiimote
The eyetoy was before the WII.
The eyetoy was before the WII.
Yes, But I feel the wii is different enough for it not to really be copying because the wiimote uses an infrared emitter(sensor bar) and infrared Receiver (in the wiimote) while the eyetoy uses pure color tracking. The wiimote also has motion sensors in it.
Our whole fucking society is built on copying ideas. It causes the gradual evolution of an idea.
Kinect Sports.......... :sigh:
Too bad all these motion things are just a stupid gimmick currently.
Technically, Nintendo copied Sony with the Eyetoy.
And technically, Sony copied Nintendo with Duck Hunt pistols.
Who didn't think the concept of 3D avatars? [editline]05:28PM[/editline]
And technically, Sony copied Nintendo with Duck Hunt pistols.
Didn't the Power Glove, despite being a failure, was a motion controller?
Show the novint some love :(
But wouldn't Nintendo be copying Microsoft with the 3D avatars? The Xbox360 was first.
But wouldn't Nintendo be copying Microsoft with the 3D avatars? The Xbox360 was first.
They're not. Nintendo had Miis, I think that they are first.
But wouldn't Nintendo be copying Microsoft with the 3D avatars? The Xbox360 was first.
I think the Wii had that first.
Playstation move looks like a terrible Wii remote ripoff.
