I recently replayed the entire Half-life series, and I just reached the end a few minutes ago.
Who, in your opinion, is to be blamed for [sp]Eli's death[/sp]?
The first person that pops up in my head is DOG. At the end it seemed like DOG was jealous that Eli and Alyx were ignoring him, that's why I think he jumps off. Of course, he could've just jumped because he couldn't fit in the door.
Who in your opinion is responsible (besides the Vizer...)?

what the shit
I thought it was pretty clear that DOG ran off because he sensed something(the advisors)
which is for the best since the only way he could bring them down is by surprise
Seeing that DOG ultimately was the one to come back and kill the advisor (just a little late to save Eli) before it killed Gordon and Alyx, he wasn't at all the one to be responsible.
It was the combine, of course.

Wow, I didn't even think of that. I figured since he bowed his head he was doing it in a sad way. I suppose it was just an "Aww" motion.
I don't think he even killed that one advisor. Shame. Not one advisor loss (that we know of) to date.
The person who made the script.
I blame Magnusson, he's the one who wanted to fire off the rocket in the first place.
Eli dies, so what.
Spoiler from a game that was released in 2007, if nobody knows that by now they're really late on it.
It was that god damn gnome.
I'm expecting that at one point in EP3 we'll come back to the white forest after going to the borealis and just find EVERYBODY dead and the place demolished. The combine definitely know where it is, and it's the main resistance hub. It won't be long before a SERIOUS crack down happens.
I was.

I thought the strider invasion WAS a "serious invasion."
They just need gandalf to bust in and fuck shit up. Gandalf fixes everything.
Darn, I shouldn't have clicked on the black box. I haven't finished Episode 2 yet.
Wow i didn't actually think anybody didn't know that.
It is an interesting question why DOG ran off in a random direction instead of being protective towards the protagonists. If he did sense the advisers, a character like him would probably be protective towards Alyx as opposed to running off in a random direction to scout/investigate something.
Maybe it was a signal that confused him, hadn't heard it before so he ran off to check it out.
Eli's mom and dad for thinking of having him.
G-man for foreshadowing it.

keep in mind that when the citadel was destroyed, that cut off getting any new troops into the half life world's dimension, besides metrocops(human), also that the combine do not have teleport technology to travel within a single dimension(their first attempt getting blown up)
they tried to use the citadel's remains to explode it into a GIANT wormhole between the dimensions to get more units in, but the rocket disrupted that ultimately fucking it over, so now they simply cannot get more troops in without a new resonance cascade
but we know the borealis may be capable of causing another cascade, all the same, the numbers of combine currently in the half-life world is getting strained what with rebellions and whatnot
[editline]4th April 2011[/editline]
so I'm guessing EP3 is all about fighting for the borealis before a new cascade, if the borealis is destroyed, that almost guarantees the abolishing of the combine in the half-life dimension
suddenly plot twist concerning gman and so begins HL3
its the g-mans fault for donating the zen crystal that caused the black mesa incident that made this massive chain of events that has lead up to his death
no crystal=no zen/aliens
Lamarr.

Or it's Cave Johnson's fault for starting Aperture. If Aperture wasn't also working on portals, plus the fact that they're making a fully-working AI, and the Borealis seemed to have sent a shockwave through the scientific community, Breen probably wouldn't have forced them to run the Anti-Mass Spectrometer over the safety limits in an attempt to beat Aperture.

What bothers me is that I'll complete EP3 in like 10 hours and then hate that I have to wait five fucking years for HL3.
