Just bought WoW, created battlenet account, can't log onto game

I created my battlenet account, but I can't seem to log on. My roommate who talked me into the game says I need to be registered on the WoW main site, but every time I try to do that, it brings me to the battlenet page.
Further more, I try to enter my game key for WoW and it says it's already been used, and yet it shows up as a 10 day free trial. I am getting very pissed off. I tried calling support, but the wait is 40 minutes on the phone.

What do I do?

You need to create a WoW Account
and then merge em both with a battle.net account
