The initial start of the trailer:
Two taxi drivers confer about what is the best kick-ass car combat game there is. Eventually the two quarrel calling each other 'punk'. They decide to stop arguing and one enters the vehicle and drives off slowly as the other guy (with the cigar) kicks the side of the door with his foot.
The driver exclaims 'Don't kick my cab' before leaving. As the taxi driver drives off he calls him a punk and throws away his cuban-like cigar into the distance. As the cigar drops onto the floor some of the ash disperses into the thin air and the taxi in defocused background goes away.
Heavy, deep sounds of leather hitting concrete are heard. The noises approach with ever growing amplitude. It is then you see two legs covered in baggy trousers... a hand in a glove reachs out for the cigar. The camera pans up and reveals...
The twisted clown called Sweet Tooth!
Sweet Tooth proceeds in boring the hot end of the cigar into his head creating the famous flamboyant mascot we all know but that isn't it. He laughs menacingly and says 'Light 'em up, boys' as a bunch of other flamboyant, flaming headed peers arise from the darkness. All of the members of his faction make evil facial expressions and pose for the camera in their own menacing, unique way.
It then moves onto the actual gameplay by zooming into Sweet Tooth's eye, showing him riding a motorbike with one hand and a flaming-hot chainsaw in the other and then effortlessly throws it another car and lets loose a barrage of explosions.
It shows other scenes of mass destruction and choas with the clowns shooting others with miniguns, chainsaws, handguns, sniper rifles, mental patients attached to a stretcher and some TNT and more.
For the first time it also shows (what I said before) you the controlable helicopter with minigun that you can shoot in glorious first person. It'll be challenging though!
We also see at the end of this a 16-multiplayer online game with helicopters, people getting ran over and the NUKE mode. Also if you look around, you'll get to see the Main Menu.
They're making a new twisted metal?
Ah, good times are here again.
It'll never be the same as the original :(
I love a good vehicular combat game, and the twisted metal series is at the top of my list of favorites
I wonder if they'll have some of the old characters in this like the good old days (Calypso, Spectre, Warthog, etc.)

agreed

I agree but the changes to the gameplay look sweet, I mean the helicopters got it tough and now they are getting it back .
now I just wish I had a PS3
but at least with my PS2 I can play the old ones
Ah, good times are here again.
Its only on the PS triple though.
Going to be fucking awesome, the amount of fun I had with the originals was unsurpassed.
A dead body driving a taxi. How does one possibly come up with such brilliant ideas?
Loved the few TM games I have played so I'll definitely be getting this.
wish i had a ps3 just for this! :(
I remember back when i used to play World Tour like mad and loved besting family and friend on it. Recently got a copy of Twisted Metal: Black and was extremely disappointed. Controlls were shit, had no idea what was going on. Hopefully this won't be as bad.
Aren't helicopters kind of a unfair advantage though?
I know this is cool and all...
But where is my War of the Monsters 2? :saddowns:

Imagine with all of the physics stuff we can do nowadays, buildings crumpling as the euphoria physics make a King Kong alike trip over your massive lizard tail!
Oh god, I would literally donate my penis to them to have that made. :swoon:
oh my god, the gameplay looks FUCKING BADASS!! :D

What?
It's general consensus that Twisted Metal Black is not just the best game in the series, but also one of the greatest games ever made for the PS2. I don't get how anybody who loved the first two games in the series could dislike Black, it took everything that made those games as good as they were and made it all ten times better.
That's like saying TM3 is the best game in the series.
As for the new Twisted Metal, it's the game you buy a PS3 for. The E3 presentation of it was (for me)the highlight of the whole expo, and the game itself looks amazing.
Hopefully they won't pull a TM3 on us.
Ok, who's gonna play a round with me when this comes out?
Sweettooth is the coolest IMO :v:
Oh sweet baby Jesus, yes!
Can't wait for this.
Also does anyone remember that one game where Sweetooth's truck became a transform?
I imagine this game is going to suck up all of my free time.
2:37....what are those huge things in the background?

I believe that is the factions (Dollface and Sweet Tooth's) statue which needs to be destroyed in the new mode called NUKE. It's a bit like capture the flag, instead of the flag though... you grab the ring leader (i.e Sweet Tooth) and drag them across the land and into a yellow ring. A big truck will transform into a missile launcher and if you are successful you shoot the missile and control it and hope it doesn't get destroyed by players and their helicopters.

That would be Twisted Metal Black.
I'm really hyped for this
looking at it now, I'm not sure we'll get to see any of the regulars (Warthog, Spectre, Calypso)
the only old face I see is Sweet Tooth
I played black far too much, was one of my earlier games for the ps2
The secrets of the maps where awesome, lets hope they put more in
edit:
The map they showed nuke on looked extremely similar to 3 maps in black, spliced together
And what happened to all the characters? Just doll face and sweet tooth left?
Oh god I can't wait for this, 4 player online splitscreen, YES PLEASE
I should pick up a copy of TM:Black. I thought it got shitty reviews but apparently not.
The new one looks like great fun.
Oh fuck, give us splitscreen.
This is going to be so fucking awesome.
Oh fuck, give us splitscreen.
If they don't....i'll just... I don't even know. Haven't had a good splitscreen game in years seems like.
