Anyways, I've been playing the same world around version 1.2. Apparently, with each update, I haven't been getting some new mobs, like wolves and squids.
How do I fix this?

In all seriousness, I don' know. I've been playing a world since July of last year and I have the mobs.
Squids and wolves are sometimes hard to find. I always find squids when I'm not looking.
Wolves are just....don't spend too much time looking for them.

I haven't seen a single squid in 2 months of playing on my new world. They are probably stuck in some underground lake but since they don't despawn you have to find and kill them to get new ones to spawn.
If you don't have much other water for them to spawn in, they seem to spawn there all the time.
My fountain is always full, because its the only water in the area. :v:

The same is true for wolves, clear out an area and light it up with torches and they'll usually show up.
it might be time to make a new world.

I always accidentally left click wolves
look in forest and taiga biomes
Wolves are annoying to find, you can search for ages looking for them, return home, look out of your window and there will be one wandering around.
On the server I host between me and my friends, wolves spawn in clusters of 10 or so near the spawn every 2-3 day cycles.
The climate is a Taiga oasis of sorts in the middle of a Tundra, if it makes a difference.
Wolves spawn in Taigas near pumpkins.
I never found a single slime in any game :saddowns:
