The Oh so many meanings of the ending to Assasins Creed II !

I have just completed assasins creed II. It's a fantastic game and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only problem, was how F'd up the ending was. Lucy said something about the earths' magnetic field becoming extremely unstable. Any of your thoughts?

Also getting all the 100 feathers just for the Auditore cape was not worth it.

The game was amazing except for the last 2 acts. It got increasingly stupider until I almost thought the developers just said "Fuck it, lets make the ending a shitstorm of retardation!"

But like the ending of AC1, it raises more questions then it answers. And while we're on the topic of AC2, Shaun was a fucking asshole.
