• I'm thinking about getting a PC graphics card but...

Okay, so I've been looking around the internet for an affordable graphics cards. (Mainly so I can play TF2, Half Life 2, and Gmod) And I recently got $50.00 because I found someone's dog, and I decided "Why not become a PC gamer?" And so I recently found this baby: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131359&cm_re=hd_5670-_-14-131-359-_-Product And since the TF2 and Gmod bundle is $16.74, and the card is $101.97, the total is $118.71. $118.71-$50.00=$68.71 And then I'll hopefully convince my mom and dad to chip in. Is this a good deal?
Uhm..try to get an HD4850, if your powersupply can hold one. The HD5670 will max Tf2 at 1680x1050.
What are your specs
You'll be able to play TF2 and Gmod on it, but that card is starting to become really outdated. However, it still is a good deal. If you have never added a GFX card before you need to figure out if your Motherboard has the appropriate slot for it. That card needs a PCI Express 2.1 (PCI slots are white slots on your MB.) If your computer is old you may not be able to use it because you may not have the appropriate slot. (Specs?) I would just save up for a better card though.

My PC was from 2005, it was mid-range back then. I upgraded it a few months ago in 2010, and it was so old that I had to buy a new motherboard to fit in my 5770. And my RAM was too old, so I had to buy new DDR3's.
Shouldn't this be in Hardware and Software?
Well apparently my main driver is from 2005. Current (card? I'm not very experienced with this kind of stuff) Intel(R) 82845G Graphics Controller

Any card will run thousands of times better than that. A more poignant question: Did you buy a prebuilt PC (I.E. Dell, E-machine)? If yes, then when and what is it's model name? If no, do you know what kind of motherboard you have?
Download and run CPUZ, then post screenshots of the various tabs here- that'll let us know everything hardware wise about your computer and whether you even have PCIe.
Get a Nvidia 8800 ultra. Of course you need a good PSU but it's a pretty cheap card now and for me is running all the modern games pretty well. I think they are almost the same as what you linked to in the OP. Thought I can't seem to find any for sale, I did get mine for about 160$

Go to control panel, system, and it should tell you there somewhere.

Well this is all that shows up when I click control panel.
This is really, really sad. It says "pick a category." System would be under performance and maintenance obviously. I don't mean to sound like a dick but if you don't even know your way around the control panel you might as well just forget about doing it yourself and hire someone to do it for you. Also having a gaming computer means having to understand cooling, drivers, and sometimes overclocking so prepare yourself.
Haha, I know I'm stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff. I don't really use the control panel much I only use it to remove programs. Anyway, I found it: There we go.
Specs are: 512 DDR RAM max frequency 333Mhz Intel integrated Gfx Socket 478 Celeron 2.4 Ghz 2 free PCI slots by default
Get a new computer.
You're going to need to build an entire new computer at this rate. Even so, compared to us, you're retarded at computer logic, so you may as well not bother and find someone to do it for you.
Alright, whatever. Thanks guys, I guess I'll just ask someone about it.
