All my current videogames consist of call of duty and battlefield, and i'm fucking TIRED of dealing with the bullshit that goes on in those games. So, what i'm asking is what would be a good alternative to those games? i've been thinking about getting skate 3, but what do you guys think?
i play on xbox by the way (yeah yeah i know, pc is dominant, blah blah blah)
[editline]10:16PM[/editline]
preferably no "shooters", thanks
minecraft alpha, the paid one
how about a good dosage of a fighting game, like street fighter IV?
[editline]02:22AM[/editline]
^that too
Tekken 3, Animal Crossing, GRID, The Sims, Plants vs Zombies.
Monkey Island 2: Special Edition is coming out on XBLA in a few hours.
how about puzzle games like braid. or whatever puzzle games they have on XBLA
also beat hazard. its an arcade shooter so its not exactly a FPS.
Forza 3 is pretty bad ass.
Oh yeah, I was also thinking about geometry wars, any good?
I'm fucking TIRED of dealing with the bullshit that goes on in those games.
Please elaborate.
Forza 3 is pretty bad ass.
I played the demo and was like "WHAT THE FUUUUUCK? I CAN'T DRIVE THIS SHIT"
Oh yeah, I was also thinking about geometry wars, any good?
imo its good. but its just an arcade shooter thing so i dunno how long you'll be entertained by it.
Please elaborate.
Call of duty: fucking commando cross map knifing, one man army danger close noobtubes, "L33TPROSNIIPZZZ" quickscoping the fuck out of everyone
BFBC2: useless squadmates, snipers

Get TF2. It is the anti-CoD.
Even though it is a shooter, it's nothing like those kinds of games.
Just got Skate 3 two days ago, and its amazing.
Way better then Skate 2.
(Which obviously Skate 2 is better then Skate 1 :P)
My friend and I have so much fun with the online.

thanks, I was really considering that game.

The singleplayer is really fun and addictive, if you got any
friends who play the game as well its really fun.
My IRL friend suggested it to me since him, my other irl friends, and I would all play Skate 2 together.
Mirrors Edge is kind of a shooter, but it's not the main point and you probably won't use guns at all.

It's the anti-shooter. You can use guns, but it's way more fun to run around people or knock them out or whatever.
Perfect dark xlba
Try some RPG's, like Mass Effect 1+2, Oblivion, etc.
Since you're on a console, racing games, like DiRT 2.
Geometry Wars 2!

You need something that will reinvigorate your interest in quality games. Essentially, and I hate to be that guy, you need some indie games. I'm not saying that indie games are good because they're indie, but the few I'm about to mention happen to be indie.

Braid: A mind-bending puzzle platformer. If you haven't played it yet, I would suggest doing so.

Machinarium: An immersive puzzle/adventure game with a distinctive art-style. Very consuming.

Trine: It's just a fucking fun adventure platformer, with touches of physics puzzles.

World of Goo: Physics based puzzles at its finest.
If you haven't played any of these, I would consider it vital to life that you do so. They're not multiplayer games that will beg you to return to them for mere sport, but that doesn't matter; they're still great on their own two feet.
FYI: Braid is for 360, Machinarium is for PC, but it's a flash-based game so you should be able to run it regardless, Trine is for PS3 (if you have one) and World of Goo is for PC but it's hardly a system strain.

Also these games are all very good.
Fuck, guys, thanks a lot! I've played most of the games you have recommended, and liked them, so I really appreciate the help.
[editline]01:51AM[/editline]
I'm going to get paid soon, and now I know what to spend it on :haw:
What I suggest is to NOT get any first person games. Not even Mirror's Edge or Oblivion.
That's because whenever I play any first person game for a long time I get really tense and stressed. If I were you, I would stay away from action heavy games like FPS's and fighting games, and try some light platformers, "building" games (The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Minecraft, etc.), and indie games.
tl;dr: Stay away from violent games (FPS's, RTS's, fighters) for a while and you should be fine.

Oh dear god! Get this man a copy of TF2, stat! He's been in COD for too long!

Mirror's Edge is fun for maybe a couple playthoughs. Then gets boring. Just my opinion.
It's still a great game. Fun game.
The only thing I play on Xbox anymore is Rockband. I love that game so much.
