[img_thumb] http://www.gameogre.com/reviewdirectory/upload/sudden-attack-na.jpg [/img_thumb] This is my first thread about....really anything in-depth, so here I go. Sudden Attack is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter online game developed by the South Korean company, GameHi. Some wikipedia stuff.
Gameplay There are two teams in the game, red and blue. Red is the Tanzirilo Independence Force (Silent Fox corps) while blue is the United Great Force (SA Anti-terrorist Police). Teams are then pitched into various types of gameplay matches in different maps such as Deathmatch, Destruction/Bomb Defusal, or custom battlefields (such as sniper-only, pistol-only or knife-only). Either team must satisfy the conditions, such as defusing the bomb, or successful planting and detonation, or achieving an amount of kills or round wins. Story In 2009, an SA policeman is guided to protect a laboratory. He then sees a top secret file about the United Great Force's nuclear attack on the general population scheduled for 2012. He then is spotted. All the SA soldiers confront him but he fights back and manages to escape. He told everyone and the evidence to it. Then a group of former SA soldiers calling themselves the Tanzirilo Independence Force fight the SA at South Water Defense Port. Hearing about this, people started to join them. Now they have a large army fight for control before the SA launch the nuclear assault. Game modes Currently in Sudden Attack, there are 8 game modes. Deathmatch: First team to hit the kill goal wins the match. Bomb Plantation: A "search-and-destroy" type of game mode. Red team is given the C4 and the Blue team must defuse if it was planted. There are two planting locations in each map available to this mode. Siege/Control: The Red Team or Blue Team must control the objective in the middle of the map for the longest. Game is won if either team successful completes the timer or if they are the last team to have control of the objective when the match time runs out. Capture the Target/Escort: The Blue team must capture the objects on the map and bring them back to the drop zone. The Red team, however, must stop them by any means. Game is successful won if both objects are escorted, or if 1 is escorted and another destroyed. Sub Mission/Special Mode: Generally, the point of this game mode is limited. This includes sniper, knives and pistols only. Touchdown Mode: Both teams try to acquire a target and try to make a touchdown on enemy's base. Runaway Mode: Red team tries to kill the blue team with a basic knife only. Blue team is only allowed to run away from the red team and is allowed to use grenades. Headhunt Mode: Everyone can only kill by headshots. If a player shoots the body, they will be killed instantly. Monetary System There are two types of currencies: cash and points. Cash is based on real money and can be charged in exchange for a monetary payment, cell phone billing, or home phone billing. Points can be earned from playing games. Points and cash can be spent at the in-game shop. Points are used for buying weapons. Cash enables the purchase of in-game boosts (i.e. +10% points) and special bonus items, along with special team-specific outfits. Cash and points can also be earned through promotions such as corporate agreements between Netmarble and SK Telecom or KTF where a user can add their cellular phone number to a call list.
So pretty much, the graphics aren't the greatest, but the gameplay is very similar to CS 1.6. It gets a lot of getting used to in the beginning but it can get fun once you get the hang of it. The most used rifle is probably the AK-47, many people learn to control the recoil of the gun so it isn't that hard to handle. The most used sniper is probably the TRG-21, which is equivalent to an AWP, when you face someone that uses a sniper, you should probably just avoid the confrontation unless you're good enough to kill them. The major system of buying guns is with points, each kill is 10p while each death is -2p. You start out with 50p and you have to try to kill a lot to get more points. The gun is set up for 1 day, 7 days, 30 days. You can of course get cash, which is in the form of a card or by paypal. You can use real money to buy character skins, certain perks like instant respawn or 2 second respawn, -2 seconds techkit, weapon skin set (gives 1 weapon with a special skin and about 5-10 more bullets than the original, gives from 5,000-500,000 points) There's 3 versions of Sudden Attack out currently. SASEA (Sudden Attack SEA), SANA (Sudden Attack North America, and KSA (Korean Sudden Attack). Here are some pics since I don't really know what else to say. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1xFCYK3bdg Video of a skilled rifle user. So I recommend some of you to try this game out, its free, and easy to play, so why not give it a try? If you decide you like it, add me on the game :) I'll give it to you in PM of course. Hope you liked my thread~
I'm sorry to rain on your parade here, OP, but I've been a long time Sudden Attack player since it's beta and honestly, this game is dreadful. The game was okay back in beta, aside from everyone pretty much sniping. There is a distinct lack of English speaking players (and those that do can't spell to save their life/are just foreigners who know little English.) Not to mention the rest of the community consists of ~pr0~ players. Clans require you to have K/D's which aren't even obtainable for casual players (which really segregates the game; you are either pro, or you suck.) If you want a free to play FPS game, you are looking at the wrong one.

I'm Korean and I'm in a Korean clan, but we all know how to speak English well. I'm pretty casual myself, I didn't take the game seriously and thought I would never get good at it and started to get away till my friend got me back into it. Within a week, I raised my K/D from 40 to 46%.

wow its like as if all those dumbasses on cs got everything that they wanted
I'm not trying to divert people from playing this game. Competitively, Sudden Attack is really out there. But there are a lot better free to play shooters (notably Crossfire by Z8 Games) out there that people could play.
Many of the games I joined consisted of Brazilians or Korean-American players speaking in Korean.
Well you have to just speak in English I suppose. I speak in English mostly, but with my clan I'll speak Korean and English, only because I'm not that strong in Korean. The brazillians are whatever, they are the hardest to get through to and constantly accuse anyone that kills them a hacker. I know what you're trying to say Trinholdt, my clans trying to get into Sudden Attack competitively, maybe even join up on http://www.suddenleague.com/
My only grievance with this game is the system it uses for weapons. Little is given through games and require you to hit at least in the top three of the scoreboard to actually gain any bit of cash. The default assault rifle is bad and the default sniper is horrible too. It's not exactly the greatest newcomer armory.
A shame you had to make your first thread about a crappy Korean FPS.

You can get points pretty easy with the AK-47 or M4A1 after awhile. The point of this game IMO is for it to be a challenge and not be to handed down to its players so easily. The point system is there to constantly challenge new players to better themselves to get better guns and make up the points for that easily. I honestly like the game because it's not like other free to play shooters that lets its user get about the same amount of money or something in game or have certain "cash" guns to be a little bit more powerful than original guns. At least in this game they don't limit CERTAIN guns to only "cash", its all out there for the user to buy and use.
A shame you had to make your first thread about a crappy Korean FPS.
I don't get what's so crappy about it. It's considered the #1 shooter in Korea and in all the free FPS games I've played, this is probably one of the better ones I've played.
First off, Crossfire's weapons are probably the most balanced I've seen in free first person shooters. They have exclusive guns that need cash, but most of these are similar to other weapons and are just purely aesthetic. You don't need to buy them unless you want to have different, cooler looking weapons. I've played Crossfire since it was with Subagames and have never had any balance issues. It's all about player skill or getting lucky. Secondly, it may be considered the #1 shooter in Korea but not here. It's very different. And it's one of the best ones you have played, which is an opinion more than anything.
This thread ain't gonna end up well
