That's right, a thread about the PS3 updates. This is going to be a rant and a question. PS3 updates. The thing that is ruining my PS3 experience. My stupid Verizion Aircard has a 5-gigabyte usage, and it's incredibly expensive if we go over that 5 gigabytes. So the updates for PS3 are like poison for my aircard, using up to 300 megabytes for one update. ONE UPDATE. THERE ARE USUALLY AROUND SIX FOR ONE GAME. So I can't even get to play Resistance 2 online. Out of all of my games for the PS3, I have only updated one, which is Uncharted 2. Don't get me wrong, I like the PS3, I am just mad at how big the updates are. OH, and my aircard. So, here's the question. ARE THE UPDATES FOR MULTI-PLATFORM GAMES THE SAME SIZE AS EXCLUSIVES. Because I want BFBC2 for the PS3, but if the update is so big I can't play it online, I don't see a point in having it. (No, I'm not going to get it for PC. I want to play with my friends.) RANT OVER.
Can't you just update using a non-limited connection?
Nope. I live where the wire to get broadband litterly stops at the end of my street.
What are you talking about 300MB would take me a half hour to download. It takes me like 5 minutes normally. The problem isn't the PS3, it's your ISP.
Don't forget to mention that freaking update that broke the 80Gig PS3s. It took like a month to ship it and get it repaired.

Right now I just want to know if the updates for multi-platforms would be the same size as, like, the Xbox updates, which take less then 10 seconds, which means that it can't be that big of a download.
Troll topic. Your ISP is the problem, not the PS3. Join the 21st Century.
5 GB per month? REALLY? What's your speed? 56.6?
Lol? Get a better connection, this isn't 1998 anymore.
Hey bud, how about you get rid of your terrible ISP and learn that SONY SHOULD NOT HOLD BACK BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO LIKE TO USE TERRIBLE STUFF thanks No, they shouldn't change shit because you can't get an ISP, that isn't their problem, nor is it the rest of ours. In short? Sucks to be you.
Yes, I know it's horrible. My family is looking for new internet.
SONY SHOULD NOT HOLD BACK BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO LIKE TO USE TERRIBLE STUFF
I completly agree, except I don't like to use this terrible stuff. Trust me, If I could get comcast where I live my family would get it.
You'd get the same experience for any game. On PC, 360, or Wii. It's your ISPs fault and your fault for living somewhere that has shit internet and wanting to play games
So stop bitching about it and accept it. Ain't their fault you're stuck in the 90s.

Microsoft is very, very sensitive about other people and how much bandwidth they use.

Yeah I have an Xbox, but one of my very good friends is ,eh hemmm, converting to the PS3.
Oh, that's a good joke. That totally happens often.
My second 360 lasted me 31 days before it got the red ring, to be fair.
RROD has been fixed for ages, welcome to 2010. Plus i was joking.
Got it new at the end of October. Even then, the idea of switching consoles because of updates is dumb to say the least.
It isn't that big of a deal, it takes about a week to get your xbox back and plus you don't pay a dime.

Then I got my Xbox Elite, and it suffered a disc drive error(I'll admit, this was my fault), and shipped it out, got a new one for free that was the new model of Elite back in mid 2009.
So why the hell should we care?
Limiting usage is stupid if you ask me... If they can run it to your house and it works, it doesn't just magically become expensive and hard to maintain after passing 5gigs of transferred data. Some ISP's are just fucking stupid

Most people are smart enough to know what they need and then budget accordingly instead of whining on Facepunch about how unfair life is.

[editline]04:58PM[/editline] And we are paying more than comcast for this aircard.
They don't offer unlimited then. It's capped at 5 gig's other people can use the internet. Research alternatives, There are almost always others you can use, regardless of location.
I'll look at hughes net or something, yeah.
Woah, if i had a cap at 5gb, I would exceed it on just one day. I don't think we ever had a cap in Sweden.
