Supreme Commander 2 Demo error!

I just finished downloading SC2 DEMO on Steam...when i try to launch it....it says LOC Engine0013 unable to start
and something about multiplayer connection.So could anyone help?

Have you verified cache files? Yes?

Have you given up? No?

Have you defragged? Yes?

Content says full game, title says demo.

The only other person that has reported this error bought the game early at a Best Buy. This leads me to believe he is:

A. Trying to use a full retail copy
B. Having an error nobody else with the demo has had
