This thread is about the MoH of 2010, which is currently in closed beta.

After a few failed Medal of Honor games, EA and DICE comes back with a new one, apparently better. This one takes place in Afghanistan, 2001. You're a super secret and awesome soldier, sent there to kill some Talibans, while USA has declared war to Afghanistan. Goodbye WWII, welcome actual world. It'll have a Single-player campaign as well as Multiplayer. The game will be using a heavily modified Unreal Engine 3 for SP, while the MP will be using the FrostBite engine.

What EA says about the game :
Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators.
Over 2 million Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. The new Medal of Honor is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players will step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan.
There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.
Dad, what's a Tier 1 Operator ?
For some reasons, EA didn't explained what was a Tier 1 Operator, if this unit really exists. But, EuroGamer comes as a savior, and interviews an army source.
"The Tier concept originates from Hostage Rescue Ability and has mutated to include all kinds of stuff. Around 1995 it was based on the amount of time a unit spent conducting Hostage Rescue and Direct Action. The Tier 1 teams would only do this sort of operation," relayed a source, unearthed by former British army Major Neil Powell.
"Standard" Tier 2 teams were made up of SEAL, MARSOC (United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command), SF (Special Forces) and Ranger forces. Tier 1 was reserved for JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) and FBI HRT (Hostage Rescue Team) soldiers.
"Support personnel such as counter intelligence and intelligence are not Tier anything," the source added, probably hurting their feelings.
You're not really saving hostages in this game, but whatever. Let's say you're a secret tier 1 operator, and the army doesn't wants to talk about it ok ?
Singleplayer
There will be one seamless single player campaign. The player will play as multiple characters that each partake in diverse and unique experiences from both the “Tier 1” and “Big Military” perspectives. The storyline will follow several "Tier One Operator" soldiers working under the National Command Authority in Afghanistan during the 2001 War in Afghanistan. Players will also step into the shoes of a US Army Ranger and will fight on a larger scale than the "Tier 1 Elite Ops" campaign, as players will only be a small part of the 'war machine'. The campaign will be heavily weighted (with regards to playtime) in favour of the Tier 1 group.
The emphasis will be on realism, with EA going as far as to bring in consultants from the United States military. It is expected to include the kinds of objectives and tasks issued in real life such as raiding terrorist hideouts, hostage rescues and undercover operations. The single player is set to include some driveable vehicles such as helicopters, jeeps and a quad bike.
Multiplayer
Firstly, this game's MP is not like Battlefield Bad Company 2. While BFBC2 is more about long range battle and "huge" maps, this game has more medium sized maps. Also, the hit detection is improved. (). The FrostBite engine has been tweaked to allow Faster Bullets. The Destruction engine has been scaled down, you can no longer knock every building. Most Sniper Spots are still destroyable.
Servers are here, as well as a Matchmaking system, which will throw you into a random game, depending of the game options you selected. You can play as Taliban insurgents and US Marines. Killing people and helping your team to capture objectives will make you earn experience, level up and unlock attachments and weapons.

Have an EA account with Bad Company 2 registered and pre-order Medal of Honor. If you're on XBox360, wait around a week.

Looks exactly like Modern Warfare with the BC2 engine
It's completely different to Modern Warfare and Bad Company. It's an awesome game, people go down in a few shots if you're aiming at the right place and there's so much more teamwork required in this game.
Less camp. No OP weapons, and grenades barely kills you at close range. It's closer from Cod4 than MW2, but the maps are bigger. They're between CoD4 and BC2 in term of size.
Anyone got a beta key they don't want?
I wonder why they gave the US marines a m21, while the insurgents get a bolt action. I know its more realistic, not that balanced, I assume.
em... last time I played sniper, the SVD shot as fast as the M21.
btw I'm in the beta, so I'll have more in game screenshots on Monday.
I wonder why they gave the US marines a m21, while the insurgents get a bolt action. I know its more realistic, not that balanced, I assume.
both sides get even weapons
at level 5 or 6 you unlock the second weapon
for taliban it's
rifleman : ak47 > PKM
spec ops : aks74u > TOZ shotgun
sniper : SVD > SV-98
for US it's
rifleman : m16 > M249
spec ops : m4 > some pump shotty i think benelli or something
sniper : M21 > M24
Moh should be a WWII shooter not a ''modern'' warfare game.
Thanks JerryK, updating the OP.
EDIT : Also added a gameplay video (PS3 :/ )
I'm currently working on attachments. Informations are sometimes hard to find.
EDIT : wow, how could I miss that.
Added a Singleplayer Gameplay video.

Because people aren't awarded the medal of honor anymore
It's so glitchy
the beta made me go back and play modern warfare 2 again because
that's how bad it is
I didn't like it at all. Felt like a BC2 reskin with clumsy controls.
the beta made me go back and play modern warfare 2 again because

why u trolling in GGD, get back to GMF
This is the series I will play when CoD gets the monthly subscription. This and Tom Clancy.
the keyword being beta
did i not say beta in my post?
i understand the word beta and i judged the beta
why u trolling in GGD, get back to GMF
Opinion =/= trolling you've been here long enough to know that.
The beta isn't that bad honestly. But you can't even compare a beta to a finished game.
Opinion =/= trolling you've been here long enough to know that.
yea but the OP hasn't and jerry has set a bad example for him
Beta is basically "What we finished so far."
And so far, they finished crap.
The beta isn't that bad honestly. But you can't even compare a beta to a finished game.
nobody is comparing the beta to the finished game
The beta is a pile of shit. DICE should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this to people
This game looks really shit.
My first couple of matches disappointed me but then I started to have a lot of fun. The beta really grew on me after 3-4 matches and now I play it frequently.

so many choices!
[editline]10:58AM[/editline]
i like the part where they included a sniper class that has to unlock a scope
hai guiz in this game we have over 5000 attachments for your weapons, but only 2 will be balanced and as you can see, the amount of attachments we have make the game so much better

ya i have no idea what's that about
yeah, the game has it's bugs but it is a beta. Biggest bug I've found from getting the game is the server browser the other bugs and issues can be found here.
I came into this thread expecting MoH, but I found CoDMW.
