Whenever i'm playing another game, i always think that all the weapons are diffferent and that I should compare all of them, just to forget that there isn't 40 billion guns (not actually guys) in the other games. I do this mostly on Torchlight and Titan Quest. When I find something with the same name I still compare it untill I remember. MAKES ME ANGRY!
Nice thread :v: By the way I don't like the game. 40 billion guns my ass. And isn't it normal to compare weapons?
All Borderlands is is getting guns to kill [del]Jason Vorhees[/del] guys to get slightly better guns to kill [del]Jason Vorhees again[/del] more guys to get better guns to kill [del]Jason Vorhees[/del]...
The game doesn't have 40 billion guns in reality it has a much much smaller amount, perhaps 2000+ small variations Let me put it this way You have an assault rifle MAGAZINE STOCK HANDLE BARREL you have 0-5 choices for each, guns are mix and matches with some other variation. There is not 40 billion. All guns look the same, sound the same and use the same animation anyway Borderlands is a game sold on a shitty gimmick that is done poorly and shows quantity over quality in the highest form. Maybe if guns could mix and match like say a pistol's parts mixing with assault rifle ones. Or hell, even letting me customize my own weapons. Why brag about your uber gun system, if I can't even make my own fucking personalized gun
I played it for a day and got bored of it. :/ It's like no-one plays the co-op on xbox live. Plus no open-world but instead gay ass areas/maps whatever you want to call it. :/
I got bored of the game fast i'm not sure what it was but I just couldn't play it anymore, it's among one of my least favorite games though, uninteresting grindfest imo.
it's a horrible grindfest FPS that has RPG features.
no shit when they were saying how many guns it had they thought everyone would assume they were including variations. did you seriously expect them to come up with billions of guns that are totally different? you're retarded if you did
it doesn't have 40 billion guns
That was an exageration.
Isn't it normal to compare weapons?
It is, but when i get all caught up in it, i look super close even when they have the same name until i realize they are the same thing.
Sometimes less is more. Most FPSes try to make each gun distinct; give it a unique appearance and have it serve a specific purpose. Borderlands just goes "here's some guns, go crazy... Oh wait you can't." None of the guns feel important, You don't keep them long, and because of the difficulty curve you rarely see much of a difference. The only other game I get similar feelings from in terms of weaponry is Counter Strike, and that just cause Counter Strike is the blandest piece of crap ever made.

worst game ever

Why all the hate for Borderlands? It's pretty obvious what the game is about--GUNS. Shoot people with guns to get money to buy better guns, or to get boxes full of guns, or to open up new areas with more guns. It manages to merge a simple RPG-style leveling system with fun, arcadey shooting. The great style/writing is just a perk.
OH HEY I SAW THE ZERO PUNCTUATION REVIEW TOO I don't think you've ever played the game.
I have, I chose they guy who uses sniper rifles. I played for 4 hours and was unimpressed. All I did was walk aroung killing Skags and psychos to buy guns, and when I bought a new gun the only visible difference was the number that popped up when I shot someone. I would complain about the characters but a paragraph between each mission is hardly characterisation. [editline]11:59AM[/editline] Honestly I think the guy on the cover art has the right idea, best to kill youself than put up with that shit.

Borderlands when stuck in Fyrestone = Shit. Borderlands when you get out of Fyrestone = Oh fuck, this game is fucking awesome. let's go online and co-op, holy fucking shit, that guns awesome.
Borderlands when stuck in Fyrestone = Shit. It wasn't until I saw the scale the game was capable of (after all, Borderlands was originally going to be vehicle-based) that I really appreciated the design. I like how varied the environments are, too. I was just getting tired of brown and more brown in Fyrestone, then BAM! Underground caves with glowing rocks and shit. Gotta love UT3's crazy coloring.
TBH, I think Shit is a bit strong too, It's ok to begin with, but nothing special.
TBH, I think Shit is a bit strong too, It's ok to begin with, but nothing special.
Borderlands sets off my "must get awesome shit" reflexes like nothing else. It's like crack. Suddenly, I'm glad I don't really enjoy MMOs. :v:
Guns look almost the same with either 100 or 101 damage.
Guns look almost the same with either 100 or 101 damage.
I don't think you understand the dynamic here. It's either: "Oh, this gun is exactly the same as the one I have here...ONLY BETTER! Awesome, take it" OR "HOLY SHIT THIS GUN IS FUCKING AMAZING AND COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, IT'S REPLACING THIS GUN" [editline]04:16AM[/editline] Otherwise, leave it.

"oh but nathaz u have to play it to lategame to really appreciate this fine work of art!!!" well no that is such an incredibly stupid statement that you really should just die. if a game isn't fun from the beginning then it is shit, since a game is meant to be fun and engaging. you don't see people going on about "u need to play to late game in haf life 2 to really love it!!!" its a good game from the beginning which draws you in and makes you play more have fun killing the same monster over and over again to get an orange gun which does 20 more damage and shoots 5% faster and then circlejerk in your group of "DIE HARD BORDERLANDS PWNERS... BORDERLANDS FTW!!!!!"

Borderlands is crap, except for the first few hours while everything is still nice and shiny and new. Also, there isn't 40 million guns in it, it's all the same guns that just have different stats and are painted differently, there's no difference in design.
The only part of the game I like is the part just before facing the final boss, the terrain is snowy which is much greater compared to that fucking boring desert filled with skags. The lack of enemies is just fucking terrible in Borderlands, I like Torchlight, Diablo 2 and Titan Quest for their great amount of monsters, even if they're sometimes just reskins, the amount is superior compared to Borderlands. The difficulty balance is awful in Borderlands, either you're totally dominating every enemy you see, or you're getting owned in one shot and die ever 5 seconds. It's not like in Torchlight, Diablo 2 or Titan Quest where you barely survive the fights and have to retreat to heal and think of some strategy to wipe them out. (depending on correct Torchlight difficulty) The quests in Borderlands are pathetic grindquests that add nothing to the story, unlike in Torchlight, Diablo 2 and Titan Quest where you are directly contributing to the story by doing most quests, except for a few side quests for optional exp and loot. They also promised vehicle customization in Borderlands but choosing between a rocket launcher and a machine gun is not really what I had in mind. I'm sorry but for me Borderlands was just a failure, this is just an average FPS with a terrible ARPG part in it to me.
borderlands is fun
