March 1, 2010, 2:33 pm - Valve - Product Update
Updates to Portal have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted.
Portal
Changed radio transmission frequency to comply with federal and state spectrum management regulations
Um? What? What does that mean?
God DAMN! I never thought I would make one of the most popular threads here at the moment.
Ok, Here is what we found:
The sound files can be translated to images
The images have a code in them
The code is a modem number
After finding the right password you can log into the modem
This displays weird pictures made of ASCII
That is where we are now.
Is this some kind of joke?
It's a joke as in SOMEONE CHECK THE FUCKIN RADIO this shit could be important
Well, gang, looks like we have a mystery on our hands!
God DAMN you guys are fast.
There's a new achievement on the community page too.
There's a new achievement on the community page too.
I saw.
The new achive is
Transmission Received
..?
Possible a prelude to something dealing with Episode 3, maybe?
Get at it, it could be a treasure trove of info. Or maybe Valve is trolling us again like the 100th TF2 update.
:iiam:
But yeah, this is some weird shit. I'm sad I don't have a radio tuner in my computer.
In before Guardin Gnome Radio
!
Morse code.

Edit:

And other weird tones...
Jesus that achievement image needs some good Antialiasing.
Steam has finished Downloading Source SDK Base
CONSPIRACY!!!!
Whoa, maybe a hint to Portal Two? :iiam:
Though it might not be a great source, someone on the steam forums posted this
The radios have red glowing dots on them now.
So they changed the tune that is playing? Hidden a release date in it? What did they do????
Someone go check the radio in the first area, right effin' now.
Anyone here know Morse code? Anyone at all?
Wow. Talk about unexpected.
Not like we have translation images and not-deaf People.
