[B][U]What is Defense of the Ancients 2?[/U]

[/B]Defense of the Ancients is the original map that created the "Action RTS" (ARTS) genre. It started as a map modification in Warcraft III and is now being made into it's own game with Valve using the Source engine. In short, it's a session based, Player vs. Player RPG. Ten people play on two teams of five and each person controls a hero of various ability, utility and strength. As you play in a game your hero will level up, you will gain gold, you'll kill opposing heroes and buy items to become stronger. The ultimate objective is to kill the enemies main structure in the back of their base. This takes teamwork and coordination, not something you can do by yourself as the base is also protected by AI controlled creeps that constantly spawn to defend it and towers meant to hold you back. Matches take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and when you're finished and start a new game, you pick a new hero and start all over. Nothing is persistant when it comes to something that can affect each game. That sounds simple in description but what has kept people playing it for years now are the complexities of the game.

Treant's heal needs to have a minimum proc damage on the damage block so things like orb of venom don't remove the layers (refraction on TA has this).

(eg: "Only instances of more than 5 damage (after all reductions) will remove a charge.")

Even though some of you disagree I think treant is a strong defensive hero, being able to heal towers is a huge perk.

To me hes a really good support/initiator especially with his base damage being able to poke so well at early levels.

People confuse me sometimes. We have all our lanes set up and are waiting for one guys. Tell him to go support so he picks batrider. Doesn't buy any items than rushes boots and gets a bot, mind u he never bottled any runes. He levels flame break first and wont level napalm till alll other skills are maxed, he also doesn't seem to understand English or cant work the chat window. Finally i check his profile, guessing hes quite new and queuing with a friend or something. NOPE over 200 games, how can u be that oblivious to how the game operates after that many games? Also whats with the influx in bad batriders and bad witch doctors? is it just me or are their alot more lately?

Sometimes as a solo foil to trilanes, or as a baby sitter if I recall. He's not popular because he lacks hard stuns/CC and when shit goes down it's just like "zombierave", which while cool and effective, is not as cool an effective as
