Valve Apologizes for The Orange Box - Games

"Valve has long been at the butt end of many PS3 owner’s jokes. Co-founder Gabe Newell has long criticized Sony and their PlayStation 3 console for being too confusing and complex. That and their only game on the console, The Orange Box, was plagued by constant framerate issues. However, in a recent interview with CVG, a Valve representative apologized for the company’s work on The Orange Box, and promised for better quality PS3 titles in the future. Valve’s Chet Faliszek has said that the company did not put their “best foot forward” with The Orange Box, and they are working to “get better” with the system. “We thought that the Orange Box didn’t put our best foot forward with the PS3 community. We don’t want to do something like that again on the PS3. We want to give PS3 owners the best possible experience. Chet Faliszek stated the following: “Some of that will come from us learning and getting better. Before we can go onto the PS3 again, we want to make sure we’re better at developing for it.” Hopefully this will be enough for many of the PS3 owners Valve has angered to give the company a chance. Only time will tell if Valve’s pledge to work with the PS3’s architecture will pay off and hopefully will occur. This is old news. Oh, and Valve didn't work on the PlayStation 3 port. EA (UK studios) did.

well this is nice but if i want valve games i'll buy them for my PC because for the best experience you really need valve games on the PC. Needless to say i like my PS3 however.

Anyone playing Valve games on a console is a idiot. This is coming from me, a guy that plays everything on console. Except Valve games obviously.

I am amazed. If this was any other developer talking about console exclusive games they'd be telling us to buy the consoles instead. Valve on the other hand apologizes. Incredible.

As much as I like the PS3, Valve games were made to be played in the PC and PC only. End of story.

Gabe was pissed off at how hard it was to create games for the PS3, though now that it is easier to do, one can pull off better titles.

A VALVe game on a console is really dumb. Source is all about modding.

All i care is: i might be able to play ep3 on my ps3 on my 50" plasma screen, and that makes me very happy.
