I heard about the face punch village from the town that i am in right now and I was wondering what happened? Did everyone quit or move on or was the town moved?
I am thing about making a new village near the old homestead bay so if would like to join just post something.
Your village will fail and no one will join.

Facepunch has been out of wurm for quite some time, I think.

is that like Evony or TribalVillage?
Wurm Online.
Google it.
I don't know about everyone else but I quit playing when he started charging just to be off starter island. that game isn't worth paying that much for.
Just like most good games, it went paid and went shit.
United Facepunch efforts tend to die out.

Very fast.
What server he even means? Freedom? Wild?
What's with the owner and treating his game? Anyone willing to give a complete history about him?
I love good reads :v:
I think that this is a great game if you can be bothered to pay for it. You can't experience the full game without paying.

I have to disagree. The game really picks up once you've got your primary skills pass level 15, and from there premium is worth it. I was a higher level carpenter, smith and mason with secondary in farming and cooking. I joined several villages over a few months and was a valued member. I had a great time.
I quit playing it because everybody else did.
That's how it works.
I quit around the time Lupus Pactum (The island town) got really big. I had been playing since Fort Oak (Hilltop lake town) was pretty new and had interesting experiences being impatient trying to cross a river with a cart load of valuables looted from the ruins. (I didn't build a raft for it, I tried to go around, got hopelessly lost, finally found a small unknown road and was killed by a giant spider heading roughly towards the civilised north.) Came back, Pupus Pactum was in ruins and overrun with giant scorpions or something, I died and couldn't get back. Came back again after Wild became pay to play and never bothered playing.
Maybe if things get improved even more I'll try the paying 'worlds' again.
The problem is that Facepunch gets really enthusiastic about things and then sort of wanders off after a week.
Here's what happened to Wurm:

The game is pretty much fucked, cause the creator has no design document for it.
He finds something that needs fixing, fixes, fucks it up with that fix, tries to undo it with another fix, bringing it near the state it was before, maybe worse, moves on to a next flaw and rinse, repeat.
Wurm is basically a classic example of what happens when you don't bother designing something and just jump into making it
It got shitty when it went "gold". I'm still pissed off about how I paid for premium for an entire season and a few days later they released an update which made it completely unplayable on my computer. Wouldn't give me a refund either.
Are you guys stupid?
