So I'm making a surf map for Counter Strike 1.6 and it's pretty much done but I can't run it!
It compiles the .bsp but when I run it it says something like "lightmap for texture too big(23x something = 700 luxels) cannot exceed 300-something!"
Anyone able to help?
Please?
Select everything, open the texture editor and set the Lightmap scale to 8

And it's a problem with mapping, not in

Wow, okay no don't do this.
This is usually a problem with displacements. Check all your displacements, particularly huge ones, and increase the lightmap scale on them to 32, or split them into smaller pieces.
Displacements on CS 1.6?
Isn't CS 1.6 on Gold Source?

above post is dumb and ignorant, feel free to prove them wrong that displacements don't exist in GoldSrc.

You're implying that the user trying to give correct info is trying to screw the OP over.

Not intentionally. He can't really try both routes due to the fact that if one is wrong he'll have to start from scratch sadly.
