They're the ones who provide this information in the first place. As I said, it's coming straight from the backend Steam servers.

We've actually known about this for a while, the achievements where leaked to some XBox website a while back.

Not only that, but the schema exposes some details about what kind of stats will be tracked, along with some odd PS3 specific things that get tracked.
