Well...as you may have already heard, PS3s are freaking out everywhere. It has something to do with the system clock screwing up and setting the date to like 29/3/2010. Then it sets it to some random date like 1999 and then you can't connect to PSN. So far we are still waiting for a fix and leaving your PS3 off doesn't really help (it's hardware not software). This thread is for discussion of this problem Not console wars! TL;DR Im going to go play my original fat PS2 from like 2001. Damn thing is invincible...
Little late. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=902275 And here...http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=859363
So it wasn't just me. So THAT'S why my fallout DLC isn't working
Ninja'd thread....
Buh? My ps3 works just fine.
apocalyps3 is actually a pretty cool name for the error
I expected fanboys to be honest
And the skies will rain controllers...
My old, fat launch version of PS3 works fine.
If you're going to make a thread, Get your facts straight. Slims are fine. Most Fats aren't. Internal clock is supposedly saying 29th Feb 2010. Which Operating System knows is not a real day. Shit hits Fan.
Mine works just fine. It's a fat 80 Gig one and we just got it repaired after that disk reading failure thing, if that helps anyone.
Mine is saying December 31st. Also, this reminds me of when Live went out last year and everyone was raging.
Mine works just fine. It's a fat 80 Gig one and we just got it repaired after that disk reading failure thing, if that helps anyone.
Some 80GB Fats are reported to be Working fully. So you're one of the lucky ones. The majority of the broken ones are older Fatties.
Stop insulting my console, she's not fat, she's just got big bones.

[editline]07:15PM[/editline]
Stop insulting my console, she's not fat, she's just got big bones.
Original PS3 looks better anyway.
What's your moder number? [editline]07:15PM[/editline] Original PS3 looks better anyway.
Lovely gloss finish and 4 USB ports are really useful.
Anybody know when an update/fix will come for it?
Anybody know when an update/fix will come for it?
Never. You have to send it to them and wait 3 weeks for them to fix it and ship it back. :v:
I thought that this only effects the 60gb and 40gb versions, my 80gb is working just fine.
I'm not too clear on what's going on. The internal clock thought it was a leap year, but it's not, so it's just sulking with its thumb up its arse?

Just wanted to play some AC2, got this blooming error. Hopefully it will sort itself tomorrow.
I haven't turned mine on yet. If I leave it for a day will I be safe?
http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/03/01/psn-error-update/ New Information about the Problem!
The site appears to be being flooded so much it's caused a DoS.
Basically, they confirm it's a Clock related problem. They don't go into details, but it seems NeoGAF was right with the internal clock thing, They expect a fix within 24 hours, which, if NeoGAF was right again, will happen when it turns to 00:00GMT 2/3/10 GMT.
Wonderful looks like i cant use my PS3 then. This is a pretty epic fuck up on sony's half
Y2K v2 Sony fucked up
When did everything get so complicated? Why can't we have the days of simply putting the disk into the console and playing the game back? Console-breaking bugs, red rings of death, man, it's too much for me to take in.
This is quite funny, but I feel sorry for you guys. Actually, nah.
