This is bad news for many, as a Steam survey conducted last month showed that 42% of Steam users still use XP.
We can also see here that the game will run on Dx10, apparently with no option for Dx9.
Just Cause 2 releases on the 23rd March for the 360, PS3 and PC.
I expect the graphics to be extra-wooshy for this.
People need to upgrade to vista or Windows 7. XP is already/becoming outdated. Windows 7 is better in almost every way.
XP is 10 years old anyway, seriously if you have a gaming computer with XP then time to upgrade.
This is another big FUCK YOU XP game.
<3 Windows 7.
WTF games won't run on Win 98??? WTFFF

Dx10 is a joke :v:
Well I just upgraded to win 7 so this wont be a problem for me.
Noo I am on xp.
Whatever, this game probably wont run on my pc anyway
This did not make my day..
..Well, I guess I need to upgrade to 7 sooner or later. :<
So, is this going to run as bad as Shattered Horizon did to me? :(
Well the first can't run (or barely runs) on Vista, I guess it's kind of fair for this one to be only for Vista & 7, even though they could at least supported DX9 in some way, but whatever, I'll be enjoying this game on my 7 with delicious graphics.
excellent, vista is useful for something for once
I really hope that more games start doing this. Windows XP needs to be apart of the past. Anyone not upgrading because of reasons other than money are completely ignorant.

I couldn't agree more.
I'm still using Windows XP because of money issues. Once I can afford it I'll definitely be using Windows 7, though.
This doesn't bother me in the meantime since I'm not interested in most new PC games.
I agree that if people still have XP it's time they upgrade, but wasn't DX10 featureless anyway?
No.
Only people who don't know what they are talking about will tell you that DX10 is no improvement to DX9.
Funny how the 360's graphical API is built around dx9.
Glad companies are doing this.
Come on, XP is really old.

Name some that aren't things we already could do or things that openGL had for years.
staying with XP when vista came out was very reasonable, now W7 is out it is really time to upgrade. XP is showing its age and it is time to move on, plus W7 is really awesome compared to vista.
Too fucking bad, Win 7 is far better than XP, as Mr-X said, when Vista was out; fair-do's, but now it's time to suck up and upgrade that 10 year old OS.
It's not always about new features.
Felexibility and user/coder/hardware-producer friendlyness is always a big pro.
For example the default functions a DX card has to do and lots of changes that people at the consumer side don't notice.
Of course I didn't find this ou myself. Wiki and interviews with developers show that DX10 was a necessary step.
If I had Windows 7, I would upgrade my laptop with it.
If it could handle the system requirements of Windows 7 ALONE.

No, end users commenting on how good X version of DX is is a joke.
Yeah but no-one used Direct X 10 when it came out, so why do they have to now? Maybe they're doing some stupid deal with M$ and also putting forceware into their game (GFWL).

xp users are holding back the ability for developers to create faster, more featured games

Duh, it was incompatible with the extremely widely used XP.
Eh, the game will probably suck like the first, and plus, Windows 7 is a hunk of crap. Both my rigs run games 10x better on XP than 7. Stalkers all have to be played on complete minimum on win 7, Arma 2 at 800x600 at minimum, etc, and still get low fps. Changed both my rigs to XP, and look at that, Stalkers MAXED with atleast 30+ FPS, Arma 2 1990x1080 at Medium with about 30FPS.
Kinda says something really ~IMO.

You are saying the same thing that I said.
