Remember not to long ago, when that whole fiasco was going on about if you got banned from the EA
forums, you'd get banned from all of your EA provided online games?
If you recall correctly, an EA rep. came out and claimed that the two were in no way connected, and you had no risk of getting banned from one for doing something in the other.
Yeah, wrong.

I made a post on the official bioware forums with the word "dickwad" (The post has been deleted but it was to the jest of, "Those dickwads that blow up friendly vehicles")
Yes, I was banned from all of my games for using the word dickwad.
Even though the email says I was warned, I was not. No other emails exist from the sender, it also cuts off at the time the ban expires, yeah, big fucking help.
Think of it like a VAC ban, except, rather than cheating, you get banned for swearing, doing obscene things.
Every EA published game I own is now banned from online use for an indefinite amount of time. After talking to 5 different EA live chat personal before I finally get an answer, it cannot be reversed. The last one I talked to said, and I quote "When you signed up to the forums you agreed to follow to the Terms of Service. I’m afraid that there is no further appeal process in this matter, and we hope that moving forward you will not attempt to abuse the Terms of Service again."
List of games currently effected:
Bad Company 2. (complete multiplayer lock-out, didn't even have a chance to go online)
Battlefield 2. (complete multiplayer lock-out CD-Key linked to individual account, impossible to make a new one)
Battlefield 2142 (complete multiplayer lock-out CD-Key linked to individual account, impossible to make a new one)
Mass Effect 2 (DLC)
Dragon Age Origins (DLC)
Red Alert 3 (complete multiplayer lock-out CD-Key linked to individual account, impossible to make a new one)
Isolated incident? No way.

Moral of the story: Do not post on EA forums unless you are a sun-fearing christian. Beware, this includes many trickle-down forums such a bioware social site. Here is the current EA TOS Good luck reading that shit.
Whats this thread about
(User was banned for this post ("Why reply?" - Lithifold))
This is fucking stupid.
EA's bullshit, that is.
Whats this thread about
Read the first two sentences.
EA hasn't ever done anything to make the community happy. What do you expect?
I thought that EA said that shit about being locked out of games due to a forum ban was totally false.
As you can see, they lied.
Whats this thread about
i did, no i dont rememer :downs:
i did, no i dont rememer :downs:
Uh oh, you shitposted. You just got banned from every EA game you ever owned. It cannot be reversed.
I didn't know EA was THIS crazy :O
Uh oh, you shitposted. You just got banned from every EA game you ever owned. It cannot be reversed.
oh no
Atleast they aren't Activision.
Goddamn, EA is the douche of the gaming world. Good thing I don't own any EA online games, or at least any that I regularly play online.
So we need Lawyers at our side to be able to post on a community forum.
Thumbs up to you EA, now shove them up your ass
When you say you talked to someone in live chat, I assume you mean on the computer? If there is a phone number you can call, try that. People are much more likely to give in if they realize they're talking to an actual person.

I plan to, tomorrow.
Yeah, at this rate EA makes it more beneficial to be a pirate seeing as SecuROM and this make a pretty good combo for hate.
I'm tempted to make stupid things on Spore now to see if I get banned.
I think EA is trying to out do Activision.
I talked to a guy on the phone this morning and he got me unbanned.
This is fucking stupid.
EA's bullshit, that is.
You said bullshit, all your games banned.
EA has a forum? Did not know.
Wow, that's pretty harsh. I've never used an EA forum in fear of this because I've heard the stories. Good job you're unbanned though, now you can play BC2!
What dickwads.
Some of the most draconian shit I've ever seen.
It's not the 15th century, we don't need to be drawn and quartered for dropping a loaf of bread.
It's an incentive to make you behave on their forums, they don't want you acting like a shit head on their property.
sue them
Don't be a dickwad on EA forums then.
Talk to customer support again, ask to be escalated to the next tier. When you're talking to a supervisor, tell them that you'd be more than happy to inform websites like The Consumerist how great they are when they unban you - and how bad they are if they don't.
It's not bullshit, you broke an agreement that you made with EA when you registered your games and on the forums. It is your fault for not following the agreement.
It's not bullshit, you broke an agreement that you made with EA when you registered your games and on the forums. It is your fault for not following the agreement.
A virtual signature as it were, will get you laughed out of a court if you bring it up as evidence of an agreement.
Clicking the checkbox when you install a game does not put you into a legally-binding contract.
Then again, it's not like I'm going to sue them.
although It's their rules I think It's stupid, anywhere else would probably just have a swear filter. Really now a lifetime ban? for a swear that wasn't directed at anyone in particular but just said in conversation, even a 2 week ban or something to online would be pretty painful for most people and double it every time.
