Hi! Ive been having this problem where, on my ftb launcher, it comes with an error every time i try to launch a pack (IOException) So, i tried a couple of other launchers, and it seems they neither work, the other launchers i tried was the vanilla launcher, wich came with the error message: cant connect to minecraft.net, and technic launcher, wich doesnt download part of forge. So, ive been doing a lot of trubleshooting with a guy from reddit, and i got the vanilla launcher to work by forcing it to run in IPv4 (made a shortcut with the destination: C:\Windows\System32\java.exe -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=false -jar minecraft.exe . So naturally we tried using the same trick for the FTB launcher, and that doesnt work. Elsewise, i also tried MultiMC, but even though i think it is connected to the internet, it cant connect to any server, not even localhost. So, here is 2 questions, is there anywhere i can download FTB's ultimate pack without goint through the launcher, and if anybody could lead me in the right direction of what the hells wrong, it would be greatly apprechiated!

TL/DR none of my MC launchers can connect to minecraft.net, please halp! :)
Is your copy of minecraft legit? If your vanilla launcher is saying it cannot connect to minecraft.net you may have a crack copy. Either that, check your internet connections.
If you do have a legit copy then do a fresh install, which seems to fix many problems. Save your .saves/files/mods whatever you want to keep. Then I'd probably recommend downloading + installing forge [url]http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/[/url] and then download and install FTB.
So far I'm having a relatively similar problem: my login isn't working at all. I've tried all of the suggestions that I've found but none of them work so far- at this point I have no idea how setting up the game is supposed to look when it's done right.
My friend gave me a gift-code for MineCraft, but I've never seen a single place to enter a code. I've created an account on mojang, but their website has only around 50 help topics of use to absolutely no one, and I can't even email them to make them stand up to their horrible service. I'm hoping you all can help, so anyone kind enough to take a crack at it just tell me what info I should give all of y'all.

Simply open the webapge [url]www.google.com[/url] in your preferred web browser, enter "minecraft how to use giftcode" into the search box without quotes, press "Search" and click on the second link
