* Logo Draft #1 This game would be a psychological horror game (should we have a well-sized team) in which the player is dominated by his/her "in-game brain". What this means is that the player, much like a regular human, is not in full control when their body goes into "survival mode," which, in this case, would be when he/she cowers and runs to the nearest door/cover. After a scare, the player would raise their hands in fear and turn to see only the nearest shelter, with everything else hidden in the fog of unimportance (by which the brain deems insignificant for survival)*. This exhibits the weakness and powers of the brain. Perhaps the player, after all, would be detoured from their ultimate goal of leaving said place by going off track into a door or shelter. I also wish to make the game randomly generated and sandbox-ish, for I have found linear horror games like Amnesia to have little replay value (due to the story). The story of this game is, essentially, GTFO HERE, as it would be in reality. Currently, the dev team consists of 2 people and a person (other than one of the two) supplying certain assets. Current Team: Myself - Project Lead, Music/Sound Engineer Anon (for now) - Lead Programmer, Website Developer WE NEED ARTISTS PM to aid us - It will be rev-share, at least so it seems at this point. * This would be implemented by fogging everything but the first door that the player sees. Logo needs redoing. The ^2 looks nothing like ^2.

has anything actually been done with the game?
has anything actually been done with the game?
Well, we are currently looking for people so we CAN do something. After all, we currently only have one programmer and a sound artist.
can i be the idea guy
Well, we are currently looking for people so we CAN do something. After all, we currently only have one programmer and a sound artist.
do you have a actual design doc?
do you have a actual design doc?
If you mean a current plan, concept art, etc. No. The story, well, it is aimed to be in the ballpark of the replay-ability of Minecraft, which has little story and randomized terrain and creatures, allowing for every playthrough to be different. Story can hold players back. Let's say you beat Amnesia, why would you feel the need to replay it? It is finite, it is done. It will sit in your steam library collecting dust while your game about picking up blocks and putting them somewhere else is getting attention. Of course, there is a goal in Dead, it is to get out of your captivity alive, however, the said place is planned to be randomized.

There need to be well crafted sections to pace, otherwise you will have no control.
Does Dead² (Assuming that's what you mean by ^2) even mean anything relating to the game or did you just stick a squared on the end to seem cool and edgy?
an order of magnitude more Dead than usual
Does Dead² (Assuming that's what you mean by ^2) even mean anything relating to the game or did you just stick a squared on the end to seem cool and edgy?
The idea is that the road to demise is both physical (death) X mental (death) = Death[SUP]2[/SUP] or Dead[SUP]2[/SUP]. "It's a whole new level of dead"
hahahahaha, "doctor! is he dead?" -doctor checks his pulse- "no... even worse, he's dead^2"
hahahahaha, "doctor! is he dead?" -doctor checks his pulse- "no... even worse, he's dead^2"
Ok THAT was awesome.
well you know what you need to do now OP, scrap the whole game idea and begin anew you play as a surgeon who deals with paranormal happenings, but in the world there is physical death and mental death. As long as only ONE is achieved, you can still bring them back but it's difficult. Then there's Death^2, pure, raw death. The end.
