Stalker: SoC Crash to desktop at CLIENT: Synchronizing

You're my last hope, facepunch :saddowns:
I'll shorten the story a bit;
Stalker was originally crashing to desktop after 'initializing'. This only started after I had changed the g36's price, so i shift-deleted the 'scripts' folder in my stalker directory, seeing as I though it must not be important seeing as it only appeared after I extracted the db files. Now that I have done that, it crashes at CLIENT: Synchronizing.
I dont want to re-install it, its 5GB and my internet is shit-horrid beyond belief.
EDIT: This is the error report:
XR_3DA.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4927_none_d08a205e442db5b5\MSVCR80.dll" at 001B:75BA513C, memcpy()+396 byte(s)
Looks like something to do with Visual whatever redistrbutable, but I'd like to see what other people think here first.
Edit: I loaded an older save that was in X-16, rather than bar, as my current save is, and it worked fine. So maybe just bar is broken.
Edit: A save in Wild territory crashed as well.
Ctrl v after the crash, don't copy what's in the window that pops up.
The crash automatically puts the offender right in your clipboard.
stack trace:
That's it.
