I hope someone can help me with this, even though this might be a tad illegal (I don't think it is, but yeah).
A long while ago I used to have a copy of World at War, wich I gave away to a friend since I didn't play it anymore, sometime after that I bought a cheap cd-key from g2play.net, note this was just a key, not the actual cd's.
After that I torrented the game and installed all the updates, sadly I had to use a no-cd crack to get it to run, as I didn't have the cd's anymore. Multiplayer worked perfectly with the key I had bought, wich is why I wanted to play it in the first place, the multiplayer.
Fast forward 3 months later where I decided to make a guest account for my stepmom on this computer, I wanted to deny her access to a certain harddrive because it had files on it that I didn't want her to see, this drive also contained my installation of WaW, somehow I messed it up and locked myself out of my own harddrive, I fixed this by going into safe mode and onto the administrator account to give me my rights back, all was well except it couldn't update the rights on a few files, including my cod WaW files. I ended up reinstalling WaW today on my other hard drive, and formatting the drive that contained the original installation (nothing of value on that drive anymore anyway), but now when I try to update my game it says the updates are already installed, and that I need to uninstall them first, but when I click ok nothing happens and it says it uninstalled, but when I restart the update it just says it's installed again and that it needs to be reinstalled, however when I launch WaW it says it's still on the very first release, no updates installed what so ever. Now my question is how the hell do I get my WaW up to date? I don't want to buy another key for a steam version as it's 40 bucks (horribly overpriced for such an old game).
I know this is a pretty long thread but I hope someone can help me.
Perhaps the registry entries noting that the patches are installed are still there? I wouldn't know what they were called, though.
