It could possibly be the ACII disk that's fucking up.
Note: I don't seem to see any scratches on it.

I think it would at LEAST give an error if this was the issue..just goes straight to black..
Try connecting it to LIVE. Chances are it's an update you need to play a recent game such as AC2.

okay..That's what my neighbor said it may be...I'll try and hook up internet to it tomorrow..I got a 1 month gold card to go along with it too.
You don't need gold to get updates, but whatever.
My AC2 disk didn't work like 2 out of the 50 times I played it. It just stayed as a black screen, so I took it out, wiped it with a tissue, and then it worked.
so I hooked it up to the internet...Got hooked up to xbox live..and it still won't work...I did all the updates and still nothing..I've tried cleaning it but it does nothing...
The HDD is messed up. Does the same thing with my MW2.
Buy a new HDD.
Update: It's still not working + Demos for games don't work. What the fuck is going on here?

Microsoft might have banned it (Check if it's got a pirate mod in it) or the Disk drive is severely disabled.

but its fresh in the box...he hasn't even opened it yet.
It's not hard to buy a new xbox 360 and put a banned one in the new case and sell it to you.It may look brand new and never been out of the box before but it might not be.
no but it's giving no errors..just black screen..its not a banned one...my neighbor had 2 xboxes..one that was hacked and one he never opened. He gave me the one he never opened.
