Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a 2010 racing video game in development by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. A version for Wii is also developed by Exient. The game will support 3D-display output on PlayStation 3 and Windows. Hot Pursuit has been described as a "revolutionary" addition to the Need for Speed franchise and is scheduled for release in North America on November 16, 2010, and in Europe on November 19.
Hot Pursuit goes back to the Need for Speed series' roots and takes on the gameplay style of earlier "Hot Pursuit"-titles in the Need for Speed franchise with exotic cars and high-speed police chases. It is primarily inspired by the original Need for Speed on 3DO. Hot Pursuit lets the player play as either a cop or a racer and will feature a full career mode for both roles. The relationship between the cops and racers is described as "a dog chasing down a rabbit" with the cops being more powerful compared to the racers. Each side has several power-ups including calling for roadblocks and radar jamming. The game takes place in fictional location called Seacrest County. It is entirely open-world and features over 100 miles (160 km) of open road and, as a reference, it is four times larger than Paradise City, the city of Burnout Paradise.
The driving model of the game is described as "fun and accessible". It is not as arcade-styled as Burnout Paradise, but far from a simulator.[7][9] All cars in Hot Pursuit are licensed real-world supercars, and the carlist is described as "all the cars you dreamed of driving, in the way you dreamed of driving them".

Looks great.
I can't wait for this game. I loved Hot Pursuit 2.
Used to have hot pursuit 2 for the Ps2 it was probably one of my favorites, glad to see they are making another one finally.
I hope they won't fuck this up. I have faith in Criterion.
Criterion, please bring the good old days.
This looks fantastic. HP2 was the best NFS besides Most Wanted, and the fact that this is made by Criterion pretty much guarantees greatness.

Glad to see someone likes 1 of the younger games for once...
Although Shift, Undercover and Carbon weren't anywhere near great.
If it's developed by Criterion, I'm getting it ^^

That's because you like Burnout, just like what you said in GT5.
Speaking about the game, it's like NFS and Burnout combined.
NFS got the cars, and Burnout deals with its physics.

Fuck burnout.
Flat Out had way better and more realistic physics IMO. One of the only games that had pretty much dynamic car destruction.
So it should be NFS got the cars, and Flat Out deals with the physics.
generic nfs arcade game 2010

it's just a swarm of supercars with kiddie physics. come on, why can't they actually put some effort into the nfs series and stop with the "keep up with a game a year" bullshit.
nfs stopped being fun at most wanted. now everything is just an addon to most wanted.

You mad bro? In all seriousness, I hate the newer NFS series except for Most Wanted. This looks good.

All will be lost in the NFS series if this is a let down. I'm really looking forward to this.
I also hate the newer NFSs except for Most Wanted and Pro Street.
I still have this game somewhere on my Gamecube. Enjoyed it until my Gamecube broke D:
Hopefully they'll try and maintain the classic driving and not whore out on graphics and fuck it up.

I never really played a NFS game, Do you reccomend it?
I want legendary cars that's used to be in the older NFS franchise.
Like F1, Diablo, and the most important thing, Ferrari.

Stupid doublepost.
Countach was in the original HP. I loved it.
I miss the F355 too.
Bugatti police car? Sweet.

Is it? I never see it.
About F355, it was last seen on Shift as a DLC.
The Pagani Zonda in the first two pics looks sexy.
Looking at those pics gives me a nostalgic feeling
Just saw the gameplay footage now. Looks very promising and hope they give it a GOOD set of soundtracks.
I can see alot of things that come from Criterion. The way you can drift to make turns and the freezecams are all from Burnout.
Not too crazy about the cams, but if the cars handle like in Burnout, oh man oh man... Looks like MW might be replaced in my heart...
This wont have tuning right? Don't really mind if it doesnt tbh.
Edit:
Knowing Criterion, their gonna have a nice choice of songs for it.
What? I always hated Criterion's soundtracks. Revenge is the only game they made that had a good soundtrack.
Burnout 1's OST was great, but I absolutely hated it in 2 and 3. I actually muted the music. As for Paradise, I thought everything was horrible except for maybe 2-3 licensed tracks, the classical music, and the Burnout 1 OST that was included.
I hope this game will have a replay feature.
I always enjoy watching my races in a cinematic perspective.
burnout paradises soundtrack was horrible apart from the one or two songs.

Yeah, the good song in that game is paradise city. I use NFS3 and NFS4 Soundtrack. Works perfectly with the games style.
I don't like guns and roses :/.... I loved The Archers bows may break and Finger on the trigger, all the classical music put me off listening to the soundtrack so much,
Apparently, there's no split-screen. A bit of upsetting, but it's also not surprising.
There's no split-screen? Seriously? HP2 had a pretty good soundtrack, aside from all the annoying instrumentals. "C'mon, I said to not play the instrumentals ever and you're still playing them in the game? Fuck you, I wanna listen to the words."

And there won't be individual maps? That's what made HP2 so fun, though.
