It's annoying how rare rain and thunderstorms are in the minecraft world, so here's a way to force them to happen!
Firstly, download NBTedit

Launch the program and locate the world of your choice at:
C:\Users\*Username*\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\
Open the world folder and select the level.dat inside.

You should be presented with this screen, simply change the values of raining or thundering from 0 to 1 to enable them. The rainTime and thunderTime values also affect how long the weather will last, setting them to something like 999999999 will make the weather almost permanent.

Is it true that rain grows grass and snow covers shit with snow?
I made a snow village and it is in a snow biome but i cant cover everthing with snow and it looks all patchy and sad :saddowns:

The rain growing grass I don't know. Snow does make snow though.
It probably wouldn't effect grass, but indeed, snow makes snow.

You have to play a specific song with note blocks, then kill a sheep.

Notch talked about wanting to add more magic and shit. I think it would be interesting to see.

Or create a netherrack pyre and you have to throw items into it in a specific order. Like a witch.

Forcing snow would require a different method to rain and thunder, these settings are global but snow is restricted to certain biomes.

While this works great, if you sleep, it deactivates.

Stand on top of house in iron armour.
Someone higher up in the modding world (who can talk to notch) should try and get him to implement the songs for rain and snow and all that. For example, get the notblocks in the correct order, play song of storms, and it rains.
