Which valve multiplayer games support animated GIF sprays?
All of them afaik
Yea. All games that have spray enabled (im looking at you csgo) should be able to have animated sprays.
They technically aren't gifs, though, they're animated vtfs IIRC. You'd have to convert them yourself - there are tutorials on the internet.

I tried to use a gif spray in gmod but it does not support that file extension.

The way I make animated sprays is just import the files in order into vtfedit then save. The entire .vtf has to be less than the limit, though (i think maybe 512 kb)
post the gif here and I'll make it into an animated spray for you. there are limits though.

There's no size or length limitations, only filesize.
