Take a screenshot of the main tab (the one with the temperatures)
Also what CPU do you have?
Yup sounds like overheating
[editline]07:22AM[/editline]
Open your computer case and clean everything out
Temps: Highest i've seen the temps get is 54 with the computer on all day.
Cant take them while running the game it will die on me i cleaned everything out last week and i've only had this issue once with another game, gmod after a fresh install but only once, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Those temps seem fine to me, but the idle temps for the Q9xxx series are known to be pretty weird, get a screenshot of load temperatures somehow. Those would tell much more.
Load what? the game or PC? I assume game ill get them in about 10-15mins and edit this post with them.
use furmark. press the stress test button.
Max it got to using furmark was 75C it stayed a few mins at that temperature and my room started to heat up so i stopped it. Now going to speedfan oblivion
Speedfan: got 2C hotter after cooling around 10C from using Furmark
That's GPU temp, right?
[editline]04:08PM[/editline]
Yeah, those temperatures are really high for a CPU. The thermal spec for most of the Q9xxx CPUs is around 71C, at that point it's going to start under clocking the CPU to save it from getting damaged and even little higher from that it's going to shutdown the computer.

You should probably try re-seating the CPU cooler.
Right so anything i could do to help keep it cool? I honestly dont think its heat related because i had this problem in winter when the temps were about 25C, its unusual that its heating up so much because i can run WoW with ultra high graphics and it doesn't get past 58ish. My CPU's cooled to 50 but speedfan still thinks its way to hot
[editline]03:03PM[/editline]
It just hit 79 playing WoW but it hasnt shut down so it cant be temp related cores are at 1 75 and 3 82 Gpu's on 60
Well, the black screen may or may not be inside windows still.
The best way to tell is to make it do the black screen, then try ctrl+alt+del. If that does nothing, press the on/off button on the front of your PC, do not hold it - just press it like you would press your mouse button.
If nothing happens, it's likely still in windows, because usually the computer will switch off instantly otherwise.
So give that a shot and lets see what the results are.
Longest ive left it is about 30 secs ill leave it a bit longer and see if it cools ill post results within this post ctrl alt delete did nothing in the past but as i said ill leave it longer and test various things. Ran it with gamebooster and min graphics no crashes going to try it on low then medium.
