I plan of getting a DS for my birthday, and I wanted to know the must have DS games. I already plan on getting HeartGold, and probably N+, too. Anybody else have any games I should get? Dsiware, too, if you know any good ones.

Yu-Gi-Oh! on the DS was pretty good. Story sucks ass, but gameplay is good.

Even if you're not such a big fan of puzzles this game will literally have you hooked.
I'd also recommend the Mario and Luigi game series, such as Brothers in Time and Bowsers Inside Story.

I haven't played my DS in years since it broke, but i swear to god people lower their standards for games just because it's on a handheld. N+ is't worth it. It's a really hasty and shoddy game.

All of the Phoenix Wright games are top-notch and worth every penny, and Professor Layton is equally brilliant.

Amazing? maaaaaybe. Must buy? no.

Don't get me wrong, it's definately one of the best JRPG's ever made and it's a damn good game, but it's not really something everyone would enjoy or like. The storyline is okay, the gameplay is fairly good, the atmosphere is unique, and the presentation is like none other. But most people wouldn't like it because it's too unique, and mostly not in a good way. And most of the memes from the game are dated enough now to not really be relevant.

Okay maybe not "amazing" but imo it's one of the best DS games out there.

One of the only games I played from start to finish, using every minute of my spare time to play it.

The majority of DS games suck though. Either poorly made or just boring.

No HM game has been able to live up to Friends of Mineral Town for me. Damn thing sucked up a good year and a half of my life.

Devil Survivor sucked dick. Strange Journey was superb.

And The World Ends With You is a horrible game as well.

[B]Metroid Prime Hunters[/B] (Best DS FPS I've seen. CoD is okay, "realism" doesn't do well on the DS.)

[B]FFIII/IV[/B] (Final Fantasy, okay?)
[B]Mario & Luigi games[/B] (Turn based Mario game (no one cares about Luigi)).
[B]Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games[/B] (Dungeon style Pokemon game, what's not to love?)
[B]Disgaea DS[/B] (Unorthodox as unorthodox gets.Turn based RPG. Highest level 9999, unknown max damage. Some people broke a lot of billions.)
[U][I][B]Final Fantasy Tactics A2[/B][/I][/U] (Great game, turn based FF. Some nice combos will make an awesome team. Best game on this list IMO)
Em... [B]Luminous Arc 1&2[/B] (Not recommended for you, only good for a specific audience, mainly weeaboo shit-heads and people who don't really mind. I fall into the latter category. Includes it's own tiny anime dating sim. Now you can dream to be a sweaty Japanese loser, and actually sort of become one! Third one is coming out, better gameplay and more dating sim is to be expected.)
