Title explains it, whenever i play online, any server i join, any lobby: my ping will be extremely high. Most of the time when i join a game i start with 600-800 and it falls to 200-300. I know it's not just me, because most of my friends i play with get the same. I'm from the UK (Northeast England) and it's not my internet as my ping can be as low as 20 on other source games. Anybody know a solution? Or am I retarded?

find a u.k. based server, set it so that when you play it connects to that server rather than other servers. you might be connecting to servers in the u.s.
L4Ds packeting went to shit whenever they fixed the low end ATI issue, and it's stayed that way ever since, unless the server in literally in your house.

When I play UK servers I get 20-60 ping. and on American servers I get 120-180 ping.

Looks like it's my shitty internet...
Make sure that your download thing is from GB - say if you changed to to get a better download during Alien swarm or something.
