As the name implies it takes place in a western setting. Synergy
To further encourage team work the game will feature a buff (Synergy) system that is focused on making people work together in groups rather than go at it alone. The buffs work as an aura that each player emits, team members that are in his vicinity will get effected by the aura and their abilities will be enhanced in different ways. Synergy can be seen as a semi-passive status modifier with an area of effect, which affects the player as well as his team members that are close to him. They are passive in the regard that they are always activated in game play and affect the player, but active in the way that they only affect team members that are within a certain distance. Status modifiers do not stack, but team members can be affected by several different status modifiers at once. The idea behind these passive status modifiers are to underline the fact that teams that stick and work together will get rewarded for doing so, and also encourage players to play as different classes to maximize synergy effects, since each class has its own synergy buff that they emit.
Each class has their own synergy effect, and on top of that each class will regenerate health after time. Experience
Players gain experience points by achieving certain objectives in the game and playing along their characters role in the team. Experience upgrades have instant gameplay impact and are clearly communicated to the player, such as increased damage, health or accuracy. Experience upgrades only remain throughout the current scenario (or campaign if the team is participating in one), being an instant and short term reward system mainly for the individual player.
Spawning System First off in Lead And Gold to fully die you have to be knocked out, and then killed while you're on the ground in a fashion similar to being incapped in Left 4 Dead. While you're incapped a teammate can help you up. Once you're dead you have the choice to pick a new class and then either spawn in your base or on the spawn flag. Players on your team can pick up the spawn flag and carry it around so that you spawn on them, similar to squad spawning in Bad Company 2. If you kill an enemy with a flag they'll drop it and enemies can still spawn on it, so walk over it to send it back to their base. Lead And Gold features four different classes, each with their own weapons, special traits, and synergy effects. The blaster wields devastating short range firepower with his double barreled shotgun but is ineffective at long range.
Carries a double barreled shotgun, extremely effective at short range. Also has a backup revolver

Throws dynamite sticks, the wild west version of the hand grenade.

Radiates the Armor synergy effect.
An expert at delivering high volumes of accurate fire, the deputy is deadliest at medium to long range where he can make good use of his repeater carbine.
Main weapon is a repeater carbine, effective at medium to long range. Also has a backup revolver

Tagging trait. The player can tag enemies as targets, providing valuable recon and support for his gang.

Radiates the Damage synergy effect.
The Gunslinger’s speed loading large caliber revolver is most effective at close to medium range. He is proficient in fanning, a shooting technique that increases rate of fire at the cost of reduced accuracy.
Armed with a versatile heavy revolver. However he has no secondary weapon

Remarkable rate of fire due to his fanning technique.

Radiates the Accuracy synergy effect.
Armed with a powerful hunting rifle, the Trapper is a master of long range sniping.
Long range and very high damage.

Uses bear traps to immobilize enemies.

Radiates the Criticals synergy effect.
At the moment, Lead And Gold features six different gamemodes. The developers are hoping to include more maps and possibly new gamemodes in the future Conquest In Conquest, the objective is to conquer control zones in sequence. One gang advances through zones A to E while the other gang advances in reverse order, from E to A. Conquering a zone unlocks the next zone in sequence. To conquer a zone, clear it of enemy presence and stay in the zone until your gang flag is completely raised. The more gangmates present in the zone, the faster it will be conquered. Greed The objective in greed is to carry as many gold sacks to your team drop off zone as possible. A gold sack is spawned on the map and both teams struggle to bring the sack to their respective drop off zone. If a team is successful in bringing the gold to their zone they are rewarded a point and a new sack spawns at the sack spawn zone. Powderkeg The attacking team must blow up the objective/objectives using powderkegs which can be found throughout the map. The defending team tries to stop them. Be careful while carrying a keg, as it can easily blow up in your face – when the sparks start to fly, get rid of the keg as soon as you can! Powder keg is played in two rounds with each side alternating as attacker and defender. Robbery In robbery the players are divided into an attacking gang and a defending gang. The attackers are out to steal sacks of gold from the defenders. The defending gang must protect their gold at all costs. To reach the gold, the attacking gang is required to blow their way through using powder kegs. A Robbery match is played in two turns with each side alternating as attacker and defender. Gold Fever A simple co-op gamemode that you can play alone or with one more person. Capture bags of gold while holding out against a continuous stream of bots. Shootout A simple team deathmatch mode. Gangs fight against each other in order to have the most points by the time the round ends. Demolition Like Powderkeg, but both teams are trying to destroy each other's objectives. Each of these gamemodes features multiple maps: Bad Blood Valley
A wagon train of pioneers have made camp in what seemed like a safe spot. Unfortunately the small island in the middle of bad blood valley turned into a death trap when both bridges mysteriously collapsed.
Featured in: Shootout, Greed, Conquest. Deadwater Ranch
Deadwater Ranch has become the hot spot in the long running Packard County ranch war. The strategic location of the ranch has brought the attention of the combatants and with that the end to peaceful country life.
Featured in: Conquest, Powderkeg, Shootout, Greed. Devil's Pit
Abandon all hope ye who enter here! The tunnels of the infamous Devil’s Pit mine are filled with the bones of previous owners and trespassers alike. Just like the lawless Fallon territory where it is located, Devil's Pit has a history of violence and frequent change of ownership.
Featured in: Robbery, Shootout, Conquest. Fort Turnbull
As gunfire and eerie howls are routinely heard at night, Fort Turnbull has become the subject of many a tale. Some mention gold, all mention death. No one knows for sure who or what has taken up residence in the abandoned fort since the army left. Decent people stay away while men of lower moral fiber are drawn like moths to a flame.
Featured in: Shootout, Greed, Conquest. Prospectors Peak
Prospector’s Peak, the scene to countless bloody showdowns, is a lucrative and heavily contested mining community. Hired hands of powerful factions duke it out in and around town in an endless battle for profit and power.
Featured in: Powderkeg, Shootout, Greed, Conquest. Sinner's Gulch
Sinner’s Gulch is a frontier town of considerable ill repute. This town epitomizes that lawman and outlaw were highly relative terms in the Wild West. The men on both sides share a lot more than their common low life expectancy.
Featured in: Robbery, Shootout, Conquest, Greed. Harvest Hill A map exclusive to the Gold Harvest gamemode. Spawn in a central area between a cave high in the mountains and a lower river area. Whoops nevermind... Anyway,I hope 4 classes is enough. 3 in Battlefield 1943 got kind of boring.
There's already a megathread for this. :(

Before you rate me late, RaveRaze said I can have take over his thread so this one is more updated and I supplied most of the info for the last one anyways
I enjoy this game
this game seems pretty cool
How to make this game: Put Team Fortress 2 in a pan... Add Left 4 Dead... Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 and a half minutes, stirring throughout. Creates 8 servings.
Just gotta wait a little bit, and then I'll have enough extra cash to buy this

Does this game do anything besides crash?
Does this game do anything besides crash?
Well it is a Beta, and it seems to only crash if you get an achivement.
Q: I have seemingly random crashes during the game. Often when I unlock an achievment. A: This is applicable only to VISTA and Windows 7. Some users suggest that running the game as an administrator might solve the problem. Navigate to your "Steam\steamapps\common\lead and gold gangs of the wild west"-directory and right click lag_win32_release.exe. Click the compatability tab and click the checkbox allowing the game to be run with administrator settings.

Well it is a Beta, and it seems to only crash if you get an achivement.
I've got about 30 MB of crash dumps by now.
How do you use the traps/dynamite/whatever? I've tried a bunch of keys but nothing seems to work. I tried to use the tutorial but it crashes when I try so that method is out of the question.
When I first played the game I choose the gunslinger and I was like "Oh hey this guy looks cool" then when his hat was shot off I was like.. :byodood:
How do you use the traps/dynamite/whatever? I've tried a bunch of keys but nothing seems to work. I tried to use the tutorial but it crashes when I try so that method is out of the question.
Left alt button then shoot.

I want to buy this game but my cpu is below the requirements and i've heard that this game doesn't have any graphical settings/options.
Hey thisispain I was just in a game with you on Prospector's Peak, I'm Fact. I don't know if you noticed because I crashed and then I think you did too.
Hey thisispain I was just in a game with you on Prospector's Peak, I'm Fact. I don't know if you noticed because I crashed and then I think you did too.
yeah i did, it sucks
Looks like a crappy version of Red Dead Redemption mixed with Killing Floor
Looks like a crappy version of Red Dead Redemption mixed with Killing Floor
I like how some people come in the thread, look at three screenshots, and then give their shitty opinion.
I like how this game crashes after 30 seconds of doing ANYTHING. What the shit.
I really wish they went with the concept model for the Blaster, that mechanical peg leg looks so awesome.
I hope there's a free weekend in a couple of months.
I really wish they went with the concept model for the Blaster, that mechanical peg leg looks so awesome.
Even then his character model is my favorite by far, it just sucks that it's probably a larger target.
This game is so good Satan himself plays it [img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/hrx-l1.png[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/hPnTeD.png[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/YbNZFF.png[/img_thumb] Bow to his noodley appendages. [editline]09:51PM[/editline] 0.4 Patch is now live. Here's the changelog:
• Added in-game chat functionality, chat is sent by pressing Y and team chat is sent be pressing U. (still a minor issue: if you hit enter w/o having typed anything in it, you may get stuck. Hit Y/U again and retype message if that happens) • Fixed random crash occurring when AI revives other AI. • Tweaked buffalo rifle damage, FOV for scope and deputy carbine ammo. • Crash fix for quick match joining. • Fixed defend icon on keg carrier when playing greed mode. (This fix caused another issue though. Greed is a bit broken. Pickup icon will not disappear once sack is picked up,) • Fixes for the Lobby Chat Lobby chat issues: o Added limit to the number of characters that can be typed to prevent messages from being cut off when posting o Removed short lag between when you press Enter to send and when it is actually posted o Fixed cut off names o Highlighted player names o Written input is automatically entered in the message field and it is posted upon pressing Enter • Kills are removed from match scoreboard to have player focusing on EXP. • Removed Gatling message when Gatling is in use by other players. • Fixed the issue with Powder Kegs being identified as Gold sacks in Robbery in Devil’s Pit. • Fixed issues with objective marker in Greed/Robbery. • Fixed issues with some of the shaders. • Fixed issues with characters getting stuck in trait animation when ALT-TAB out of application. • Fixed issue: If a deputy died while tag-aiming, tag-reticle and red outlines being left on screen. • Fixed two crashes related to the carrying of objects. • Added Blood to the German version of the game (USK thinks we are a lost cause anyway ) • Fixed issues with units not being pre-loaded and thus causing frame rate issues. • Fixed crash occurring at extreme lag when picking up a keg the same frame it exploded. • Fixed crash occurring randomly when opening menu while in game. • Moved the drop off flag close to the blue spawn, since it was blocking the path when running from blue spawn. • When getting revived from KD, you now switch to main weapon automatically, unless you fire directly with your secondary.
Oh man, I really enjoy this game.
Oh man, I really enjoy this game.
Oh it's you. I don't know if you remember me, but I'm a chocolate helicopter and you kept killing me with dynamite and it made me sad.
Oh it's you. I don't know if you remember me, but I'm a chocolate helicopter and you kept killing me with dynamite and it made me sad.
lol I didn't think I was spamming it that much. I enjoy gunslinger and deputy more anyway.
Thanks to the new patch Trapper is actually fun. It's amazing how people never see the traps, and I just love getting those ridiculous shots from far away while hiding in some bushes.
says the game is currently unavailable :geno:
