There are now tabbed chat windows. Not perfect, but it is awesome.

OP's right, this is a pretty cool feature if not quite perfect.
Opt into the beta in settings
Beta UI. As in, go to Settings, and then Beta Participation and choose the Beta Update
Noticed that the server ip in server info now has a new outline, and not sure if this is correct, but I think store/news/etc load a little faster from the main steam window now.
Also not sure if this existed before, but at the top of the main steam window, the very top tabs that include friends and help.

they should make all chats in one window. auto tabbing.
Except that you can't open new tabs from middle or right clicking, you have to press new tab, and copy-paste a url, except then you can't get a url just by right clicking, you need to actually load that url, copy it, then go back, and open in a new tab, if that's even worth doing.

I know, but this update also included tabs for the ingame browser which people had mentioned in this thread.

I don't see why chat isn't all in one window. It is pretty annoying you have to drag each chat box to another.

Nevermind, restarting steam fixed it.
The best part of this is, when you're in-game, and someone sends you a message that causes a new window to open up, your game gets instantly minimized.

Luckily, it isn't that bad for people with the windowed and noborder commands.
Doesn't look very good with custom skins. :frown:
