HL1 disconnects from Single Player when using "Impulse 101"
14 replies, posted
As soon as I type "Impulse 101" in the console after starting a single player game in HL1, I hear the snark sound, and I see the weapons appear, but half a second later it just disconnects and goes back to the main menu.
However using it on a server with friends and shit, it works like a charm.
Anyone who can shed light on why this is?
Maybe you could try to Verify your files. I dunno. It works for me, and im using the NoSteam version.
There's a Nosteam version of half life?
Yep! Steam were released in 2003.
Yes there is, but im actually using a *cough* pirated *cough* version.
That was a really dumb thing to say.
This is an implemented anti-cheat resource in HL 1's

So nice of you. I'll keep that trick in mind.
I have an old no-steam half-life version. And it is legal.
What does the console say
The game is punishing you for being a cheater
Okay, now Steam REALLY fucked up. First I couldn't start any games at all, and when I restarted it it won't log in! It get's stuck after I enter my password. It doesn't freeze, it just... doesn't log in! Or launch games! D:
clientregistry.blob
Delete it.
Erase everything in your steam folder except the exe and steamapps folder or erase your blob file
