just saw on IGN.com today. a forklift that does absolutly nothing...
One of the goofier announcements to come out of the Halo panels at the San Diego Comic Con was the inclusion of a forklift in Halo: Reach. It's a brand new vehicle that has both the ability to move and stop. File this one under useless but fun.
So what's the deal with said forklift? You won't find much use for it unless you want to showboat. The forklift can't go fast enough to hurt enemies -- ramming it at top speed into a grunt or jackal just pushes them forward or out of the way.

A Bungie representative told IGN that originally the forklift had the ability to raise and lower, but that feature got cut because it was just too crazy and pointless.
Are you ready for some forklift-ing action? The vehicle is a part of the Forge tools, so you can actually create your own races with them -- though such a race wouldn't exactly be fast.
comment?
I hope I can lift and move crates.
Okay, now Im interested in Reach

removing that feature was crazy and pointless!!! seriously now what fun is it
Okay, now Im interested in Reach
Fixed it. Alright, it does seem pointless, but to have it in forge/construct, that's a pretty cool addition.

No raising and lowering, so I doubt you can move any crates

Well but without those features, the forkift is now also crazy and pointless.
I wonder if it has power. Like it you can make stuff with forge on top of it.
Forklift fort here I come
"It's a brand new vehicle that has both the ability to move and stop"
Holy fuck.
If they let you pick up stuff, then it might actually have a purpose. It could move cargo containers to add cover and stuff.
What's more awesome is that there are going to be more civilian vehicles they haven't shown us yet :)
i really hate when games include forklifts that can't lift anything
i always get excited to pick things up and then it never happens

Obv it's a joke.
It's one of the tons of civy vehicles.
Reminds me of that forklift model in halo 3 that explodes, also

mods did this already
I'm looking forward to the awesome forklift races that will result from this. Fuck warthogs, mongooses, and covenant vehicles, I want to race with fucking FORKLIFTS.
But imagine waiting around a corner waiting to drop a crate on an unsuspecting Spartan. WHY DID THEY TAKE THAT AWAY FROM US?
They may put it back in the game. Didn't they say they'd make it faster too?
removing that feature was crazy and pointless!!! seriously now what fun is it
I wanted to raise it up then lower it onto someone. :saddowns:
game of the year for sure
Far Cry multiplayer had forklifts, and you could shoot from the driver's seat.
Why are you guys getting excited over a silly little forklift?
We have those in GTA and it was boring as hell. Well they might as well add in a semi trailer
holy fucking shit
a forklift?
stop the presses, Johnson BUY BUY BUY
Makes me want to play Far Cry
You think in the future, the Forklifts would look more FUTURISTIC
Bungie thought that the up-and-down movement ability was too overpowered. I'm glad they finally added a balanced vehicle.

I agree, I think lifting players and boxes and other vehicles would have made the game ridiculously easy. Just think: a campaign mission with a scarab. You drive under it, lift it, and flip it. Done. Where's the excitement?

That would not happen.
Try getting a warhog under you and whacking it, it's too big that it won't move.
