Man am I excited to tell you about this fucking game!! Rayman Legends is the follow up sequel to, you guessed it Rayman Origins which I personally rank as probably my favorite platformer of all time. Origins featured a INSANELY smooth frame-rate, perfect control of your characters making every mistake your own, and some of the most fun and catchy music around. That doesn't even scratch the outstanding visuals. You see that header? The entire game looks like that. It's really really good, and despite some stupid rumor they are all 2D sprites. Legends though follows the tradition of sequels though and, at it's very very basic core, just offers more of the same. The lightening engine has been improved and the arts been touched up, but it's more of the same running and jumpin and punching things in the face while grinning like a maniac. Let's get the elephant out of the room though. Murphy. In some stages of the Wii-U version (they won't be in the ps3/360 version) you'll have the option to switch back and forth from Murphy to your selected character. As Murphy you're character vanishes from the screen and Rayman/whoever will take over and start playing through the level themselves. THIS IS NOT A SUPERGUIDE Murphy's job is to manipulate the level in various fashions to keep the AI from getting murdered, moving platforms, dragging enemies kicking and screaming away, rotating the entire level around and a lot more via the touch screen. This caused a lot of worry as FUCK THAT I WANNA RUN N' JUMP, but the challenge APP has proven that this can be extremely fun. As for the APP itself, I'll get to it in a minute. [t]http://oi44.tinypic.com/23jpkjs.jpg[/t] "I heard the game got shoved back on the wii-u and I should be mad!" Well... yeah, I suppose it's fair to be mad. Hell, when it was announced I was FURIOUS for awhile. I got so damn mad about video games you guys! Apparently people other then me got mad to and even picketed outside ubisoft's studios. Surprisingly, Ubisoft decided to actually do something about the upset fans though and made up for it. Not only have they put 30 new levels and several bosses in the extra time they've put out a challenge app that you can get now if you have a Wii-U, it's free! The challenge APP serves as something of a demo, and a super addictive time killer. There's a video here (click) showing it off. Basically every day wii-u users can boot it up to find a specific challenge tailored for you to run through. The environments each offering a different kind of stage to run through. Murphy's Dungeon tests your reaction speed to keep a AI or Friend alive, while the Land of the Livid Dead is a straight up balls to the wall obstacle course out to murder you. Your times on the challenges are all recorded and sent to other wii-u users so you can see just how well you did and the top 3 get special shout outs daily for being awesome. It's insanely addictive and you have no reason NOT to try it if you own a wii-u. To close this out unless I'm forgetting things, here's a few recent trailers. I suggest watching the first one at least :v:
Still no 3d Rayman? What are they thinking
Still no 3d Rayman? What are they thinking
I always preferred the 2D Rayman games, tbh.
Still no 3d Rayman? What are they thinking
"Shit, Origins was amazing and did really well let's make another?" :v:? Rayman The Great Escape was great, but it was like... the only good 3D one, and given the quality of Origins and Legends I don't mind them going back to this whimsical version of Rayman
The fact that PS3 and Xbox get nifty Rayman costumes for Gamestop, while we get some Barbrabitch costume instead infuriates me.
mother fucking weekly extreme challenge

Footage of one of the several bosses, this one's apparently pretty early. I'm clutching my head here at how good it looks as well
I just finished origins and I'm so exited for this. This (and pikmin 3) might just push me over to getting a Wii U.
Looking forward to the vita version, origins looked great and super colourful on that screen and this looks just as great. Would be good to actually get the multiplayer this time too on vita :v:. Is there any news on this coming to PC as well? I can't find anything about it but I only did a quick little search
