• Just about tired of the 360

Don't get me wrong when I say this. I love the online play, games, and controller of the 360. That's why I went from the Sony in the last gen (PS2), to Microsoft this gen (360). But, come on Microsoft. The 360 is a powerful machine. And it lets you know that. What with the jet-powered industrial strength cooling fans, it shakes the Earth itself when it runs. And those fans, for all their bark, don't really seem to do much. The thing still runs at a heat that would make Smokey the Bear weep and beg to be killed. Which brings me to my next complaint. The infamous Red Ring of Death. Way to go Microsoft. Brilliant design there. A console that they know runs hot, and they use things like lead-free solder to hold the all-important CPU and GPU units onto the motherboard. As such, as soon as the 360 gets hot (which it's bound to), it shits itself, and Red Rings. With a previously 20% failure rate, the 360 is clearly establishing a new standard for reliability. And the appetite for disks is insatiable in the 360. Mine, personally, seemed quite fond of the brand new, 60 dollar disks that I had just bought. Apparently they still had the taste of money on them or something. Did you know that in every 360, a 25 cent piece of foam would've solved the problem of its oversensitivity to eating disks. So, with my most recent Xbox failure, I think I'll take my 300 dollars to Sony now. /rant.
This is nothing new. You should be well aware of it when you buy one by now.
isnt the exbawks like super duper years old, who cares now
Well, I'm aware it's nothing new. It's just consistently bothered me. And, because of that, Microsoft lost a customer (at least me, dunno about other people), when it put out the Xbox 360S. Which, it only did in response to Sony dropping price first. I guess what bothers me is how greedy MS is. But maybe Sony's the same way.
If you want your games to stop breaking don't move your Xbox while it's on.
The only reason I'd even consider buying an Xbox is probably Alan Wake or, in the rare occasion of wanting to play a generic space shooter, Halo Reach.
My complaint isn't that it eats disks, because it mostly (and only mostly) does it because of my foolishness. My complaint lies in how easy of a fix it would have been for Microsoft.

If anything, they raised it $100 now since that is the only model available (sorta). You can't go out and buy an Arcade version for $100 less than the Elite, or whatever the premium model was previously. And I'm aware the old models are still on shelves but once they're out, they're out.
Am I the only one who has NEVER, EVER had a problem with my Xbox 360, which I bought when it first came out...?

Also, Microsoft Customer Service. What the hell?
Yes. And its name is Bashir Singh.
Yes, the xbox has faults, yes, the PS3 has faults. Please stop getting upset because they're only consoles for gaming.
Well it's not really costumer service. I'd call it more...distraction.
A good choice, OP. You won't regret it, since 360 has no games.
A good choice, OP. You won't regret it, since 360 has no games.
Eh. I wouldn't really agree with that. It has plenty of exclusives, but Halo never appealed to me past the 2nd, Gears died out at the 2nd, and Fable only lasts so long. However, Metal Gear Solid 4? Heavy Rain? Sex.
What the hell are you saying, Diet Kane? Haven't you seen all of those " PS3 HAS NO GAME! " jokes and comics? I'm pretty sure they're made for a reason, right?
Well it all caters to taste. It seems like the exclusives (and maybe the ps3 in general) is aimed more at the semi-casual gamer, rather than the 360, which is more aimed towards the hardcore gamer.
Am I the only one who has NEVER, EVER had a problem with my Xbox 360, which I bought when it first came out...?
Me neither, the disk drive has broken once, but that was a 30 dollar fix, and that is about it. But I still like my PS3 more.

I've had the same 360 for 3 years with no problems with it yet.
I love the red ring. It's making me money off of stupid kids that leave their Xbox's on carpets with no ventilation.
I've owned 2 xbox 360s, both broke. First one, it got 2 red rings, which I've heard means it's overheating and needs to cool for a little while. Well that's bullshit because I kept the thing off for days and whenever I would turn it on, it would play normally for 3 seconds then go back to 2 red rings. I looked and looked for a fix for this, everything I found was only for the 3 red rings. So I thought I might as well try that. I ordered the fucking supplies (tools, thermal paste, bolts) spent hours trying to fix the damn thing. When I finally thought it was fixed. Nothing changed. Waste of money. Then a while later, I thought I might try playing xbox again. Ordered a used one, played good for awhile, then got a habit of eating some of my discs. I played the orange box a lot, because I was addicted to TF2, and I was saving up for a computer at the time as well. Ate my OB disc, bought another, Ate it too, but I hate to turn the xbox or something to get it to read it correctly. Then it finally crapped out and gave me a one ring, which is supposedly a hardware problem, like with the chords or something. No noticeable problems at all with any of that shit. So I thought fuck it, and bought a PC and I've got my shitbox sitting in my closet. Which is a shame because I have a lot of games for it.
I love the red ring. It's making me money off of stupid kids that leave their Xbox's on carpets with no ventilation.
Left mine standing up, no more than 15 feet away from my house's central A/C unit. On a wooden floor. Care to explain?
