The game is written and directed by Quantic Dream's founder and CEO David Cage. Heavy Rain's story is a dramatic thriller modeled after film noir, featuring four protagonists involved with the mystery of the Origami Killer, a serial killer who uses extended periods of rainfall to drown his victims. Ethan Mars is a father who is trying to save his son from being the next victim, while investigative journalist Madison Paige, FBI profiler Norman Jayden, and private detective Scott Shelby are each trying to track down clues to the Origami Killer's identity. The player interacts with the game by performing actions highlighted on screen related to motions on the controller, and in some cases, performing a series of quick time events during fast-paced action sequences. The player's decisions and actions during the game will affect the narrative; the main characters can be killed, and certain actions may lead to different scenes and endings. A playable demo was released on 11 February 2010. The demo was released prior to this date for people who took part in a Four Day Challenge on 5 February 2010. In addition players will also be able to use the PlayStation Move controller to perform the quick time events when a patch for the game is released in September 2010.
Characters: Ethan Mars discovers that his son Shaun may become the next victim of the Origami Killer, and is forced to go to extreme lengths to save him. Fridge Logic Heavy Rain is a game that's all about narrative, so it's odd to see so many things that don't quite add up when taking thinking about it later. Fridge logic is a term coined by Hitcock, and it refers to when you only realize that something is illogical after some time has passed (the term itself gives the example that you are enlightened while digging through the fridge). While fridge logic doesn't necessarily cover all Heavy Rain's slip ups or even excuses them, you probably enjoyed the story the first time through without realizing. EDIT: Plot Holes removed.
Why would you include the last section AT ALL?!
A friend of mine had this game. I played through the first couple scenes, I made all the worse decisions. for example [sp] I ran at the guy robbing the store[/sp]
Oh my God, I loved this game so much. [sp]in the second trial, however, you find a skeleton. So obviously the glass has been there for a long time.[/sp]
Why would you include the last section AT ALL?!
I didn't ruin the game for you did I? I included the last section because people like to bring up the plot holes in most Heavy Rain threads I have seen. While I don't think about them too much, it is fun to discuss them sometimes and see how people rationalize them. The story and game for me is more of an experience, so I don't get hung up on those details.
OP is an idiot for putting spoilers in the OP regardless of the fact that there is a warning.
OP is an idiot for putting spoilers in the OP regardless of the fact that there is a warning.
Fine, I will spoiler tag it. I didn't really think I had too 5 months after the game came out, but I guess I don't want to ruin anyone's experience.
Just get rid of it. It's unecessary and stupid. There is also a much better Heavy Rain thread.

If you can direct me to it, then I'll gladly bump it. I know one was around when the game released, but I can't find it now. EDIT: Plot Holes removed.
