Valve Co-op Mods - Games - Facepunch Forum

Oh boy, this thread again. I know, and I did search around a bit. I found some good Deathmatch and Single Player mods. That's just it. I frequently visit my friend Tanner, and we play a lot of Half Life 1/ Source mods. Seeing as we like to LAN, single player is out of the question. After a while, though, Tanner gets sick of beating my head in all the time. So to get to the main point, what are some good co-op mods? I've already got Sven Coop, but it's mostly remakes of actual games, and remakes of other peoples maps.

The problem with co-op mods is that they die quickly so good luck finding any that are still alive and/or have an active playerbase or servers

Obsidian Conflict is great. Just make your own server and start a Weaboo banlist. Then share it with all of us so we can ignore the annoying bastards when we want to enjoy a game without a bunch of XDs and ^ ^s intruding on my exciting Half Life experience.

The only other thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is Decay. I haven't actually played it so I can't say whether it's good or not, but it's a third Half-Life expansion by Gearbox, so it can't be [i]that[/i] bad. And of course there's Portal 2.

If you don't have them, the players appear as rebels. So shutup and stop saying it sucks because of that. And no, when I played I didn't have them either. Plus, it's a game made to be played with friends, not random people.

The weaboo content isn't required- nobody's forcing you, don't like it? Just deal with the black rebel for now.

Obsidian Conflict would be better if maps had better design and were more than 1000 ZOMBIES AND 20 POISON HEADCRABS AND 35 BLACK OPS AND 67 COMBINE AND INVINCIBLE HELI AS A BOSS.

TBH I never even heard of it for the longest time, I was busy playing in other servers and the official server just never showed up on the server list.

Synergy is fun as hell. Just limit it to 3 people max, and be careful with grenades.

Obsidian Conflict is a hell of a lot of fun with the right people. I've got fond memories of the Facepunch OC server.

I find Sven to be more fun than Obsidian Conflict. OC's maps are kinda uncreative but I think that will change over time.

Synergy still has players on it. If I recall it isn't too horribly disfigured.

Synergy sucks though.

The only good/successful coop mod was Sven Coop, Ten years from now and its still good.

I've been on Sven Coop plenty of times and there is always players

There's a mod for both opposing force, blue shift that gives co-op feature. (Opposing force co-op is a map pack with a cfg, blue shift co-op is a mod which unlocks the map files) But they need some configuring (and deleting of files that list monster HP as the ones given with the mod are bullshit) There's a Fan-made Decay PC port which is worth to play trough. There's also Synergy, even though with each update it seems to get more buggy. (Heck, the positions of player models in vehicles aren't even in proper places anymore, or the giant orange trigger wall) Also Obsidian Conflict, with friends on your own server can be great fun. Even though some of the maps are bullshit. These are all the ones i know.

Here's a few examples of the quality of Synergy: Highway 17, Being blocked by a large yellow trigger wall in the middle of the map that doesn't go away. Highway 17. Getting killed and being spawned in the middle of thin air next to the traintracks and right above the ocean. The mod has a healing system that works ensures that the only player who has health is the greediest one unlike before. All of the regular HL2 cars have displaced seats, so watching your friend drive looks really stupid.
