Oh, these games are the best. They're Grand Theft Auto, but with a more....Well, I don't know how to put it, but you have consequences for attacking your friends, and the random people around. More guns, more cash, more fun. They're just too damned fun.

Mercs: Playground of Destruction was, and still is, loads of fun. Too bad Mercs 2 blew.

Mercs 2 was alright. I found it to be a bit more confusing though, and was hoping for a ballistics upgrade that we never got.

All I did in Merc's 1 was blow up buildings. Over and over again

Mercenaries 1 was awesome, too bad it was never ported to PC. Mercs 2 was just shitty - the poor "badass mercenary" feel it had was wholly different from the "disciplined PMC contractor" first and detracted from the mediocre gameplay.

I've played both, and while Mercs 2 was fun, I feel that Mercs 1 was just more enjoyable. Like mentioned above, there wasn't an upgrade in ballistics for the second one. No larger bombs or anything. I was fairly disappointed.

The first game annoyed me so much because you couldn't swim. Got hit by a car and knocked into a river? You're dead. I loved getting a helicopter, winching a car, going as high as I could, swinging it around and letting go though. And blocking a road so tons of civilian cars stack up and then bombing it.

Loved Mercs 1 for the short time I owned an Xbox. Got Mercs 2, and I realized that the best part about that game was the "Oh no you didn't" song in the ads. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEbE3fGfF-o[/media]

Mercs 2 had a great soundtrack though.

First time I used a cruise missile in Mercs 1, my jaw dropped, it was amazing.

Mercs 1 was amazing, too bad mercs 2 wasn't as good.

i loved the first one alot but the second just didn't do it for me

1st was great. a shame it isn't backwards compatible with the 360. 2nd was alright, too bad some of the gameplay changes sucked ass. also the laser designator didn't get the attention it deserved.

Mercs 2 was fun as fuck in coop, I only had the demo for the first game, but I played the shit out of it. fuckin awesome series. but not exactly an old one. uh.

I never played Mercs 1, but the worst part of Mercs 2 for me were the supplies. I never used them. I just shot dudes with my carbine and when a something needed extra firepower I hijacked a tank. If that tank blew up I would hijack the tank that blew it up. The bombs were pointless.

Mercs 2 was good but the a.i. was shit and most of the bombs were useless because they used smoke grenade instead of a laser designator.

how to get 50 dollars worth of entertainment out of Mercs 1: option a.) obtain helicopter. fly helicopter over vehicle with a civilian in it. drop magnet. haul vehicle to the top of a building, and let it go safely. laugh as it drives off the side and explodes. option b.) enable the cheats that gives you infinite ammo. purchase c4. place approximately 50 c4 on ground in one spot. drive sports car over it. blow c4. rocket car.

and also don't you just hated how the soldiers shot you at point blank with their rpgs?
