• Doom 3 opencoop lag!

Me and my pal just bought doom 3 on steam for the quakecon sales. We are playing over lan on hamachi. He enters the IP and joins but after a few minutes it starts to lag! What does Edit: We can only connect through Hamachi IP, the game doesn't show up in lan list
You could try lowering settings.
No we tried it doesnt change anything. Also the lag isnt for me it is for my friend.
I get them horrible lags and I've put all the settings to the lowest and still the lag seems endless. How does? (But seriously, can you help?)
Could possibly be a connection issue.
yeah, maybe, but we need help around this shituation.
If you're lanning and using hamachi you're doing it wrong.
What are we supposed to be doing.
Just LAN connection. Kids these days and their WiFi!
It's one of your internet connections. For durr hamachi lan people, he is using hamachi to play in lan mode. I recommend you try to make a listen serveer OP.
yeah I forwarded the ports necessary and it is still lagtastic I have 0 ping he has ping varying from 300 to 600 and flickers to 70 every once in awhile
You need at least high speed broadband connection to host any form of a doom 3 server over the internet, especially for a coop mod as it has to send a lot more data to sync everyone up. Or are you actually physically next to each other? If so if you're hooked into the same router then it should show up in LAN. If you mean its not showing in LAN over the internet well durr hurr use direct ip or the server list after port forwarding correctly. Hamachi I find can cause crazy high latency some days.
It's weird, it just started working after a while of trying and it seems that connecting through IP was the problem (which is strange). after I made the listen server we tried joining through IP and it lagged like fuck, but when joining though the server list the only noticeable problem was sound sync. Thanks guys! edit: And no we weren't near each other, my friend lives 4 states over.
