Opus is an awesome Arcade Style Shoot em up mixed in with some rather unique and cool music intergrated features, Along with a kicking rad art style. Sort of like what would happen if G-Darius had a baby with Audiosurf. I've spent an hour on it myself playing my own collection of 8-bit chiptune music, which it seems to work Very well with.
A tip with any rhythm game like this, is to play very loud fast stuff if you want to increase the intensity of your gameplay thus inducing a barrel of fun.
Here's text from the website.
What is Opus?
Opus is a two-dimensional, constantly moving, side-scrolling, action, shoot-'em-up, with real-time music-based level generation.
The goal of the game is to provide a forum for the player to experience the expression of music. The game's core function is to facilitate (in real-time) the player' experience of music as it is translated into gameplay.
Load Your Music
Players are allowed to load their choice of music (in MP3 format) into the game, which is then processed by the engine and made into a level. Players must then shoot and avoid obstacles and enemies, which are all spawned by the sound analyzer. The player's end goal is to reach the finale of the song without loosing all of their lives.
Become the Hero
Each song tells a unique story. Listen to your music in a new way.
Powerup and Rack Up Points
Opus has different sets of powerups and weapons that will aide in destroying the enemies. Collect point orbs and combo-kill enemies to increase your score.
Some pictures of the game itself.

(Screenshots don't do this game enough justice)
This game will soon have it's own download meaning you can just pick up and play any time straight from your desktop.
Please support the team by spreading this game around as much as you can, and to anyone you'd think would enjoy a game like this, It's not a well known game yet, and I'm sure some recognition would be an awesome reward for the Team's hard efforts that went into making this game.
You could also recommend songs to play for each other in this thread, what song has given you the best gameplay so far.
This game will be worked on pretty regularly, so updates will probably come as soon as they can.
NOTE: Close all other tabs if you want this game to play flawlessley.
Close any Youtube Tab especially, or Opus will take a seizure if you try to play it with both open
So on you go, Play it.

This is really cool
Looks interesting. Trying it right now.
It's fun, but it's not like it's the best music game ever or something.

That was awesome, but Opus will always be a giant nosed political penguin to me.
Reminds me of Beat Hazard
I can only see half the screen, curse my 1024x768 monitor :argh:

Close any YouTube tabs because they completely fuck everything up for some reason.
Just played Erasure - Always, this game rocks.
A bit laggy at intense moments though.
Using the Elona Soundpack for this... ohlord Dragons and Toast :ohdear:
This could kick Beat Hazard's ass if it wasn't flash.
If they made this multiplayer, I have a decent idea how to do so.
One player is the game, and plays it just like your average rhythm game.
The other player is the ship, who has to dodge notes and such.
If the game manages to time a note right, it explodes, making it harder for the ship to dodge it.
Holy shit this is golden.
I was hoping that this game was actually going to sync to the music. I got dissapointed.
It does.
I'll wait for the downloadable version from them, even with nothing else open I still run into issues.
Holy fucking shit this game is awesome with Dubstep on.
Brain Damage - Pink Floyd.
:flashfap:
this is so awesome
playing this makes me feel awesome

This needs to be on Steam
first impression - just another beat hazard knock off... second impression (played dragon force) - OMFG this game is off the fucking hook!
Just played this using the Red Dead Redemption theme. Got 100%
This is a kinda neat flash game. A downloadable version will definitely be something to get when they release it.
Played it with Brodyquest :v:
Is it just me or does the Song Intensity stay the same during different songs?
