Seeing as though the search function is disabled, who's played it? is it good? and is it worth buying for like 12 pounds?
'eh, it was fun. But you can get some much better games for 12 pounds (my opinion)
Care to give any recommendations? i thought it looked cool a while ago, think i might get dragon age: origins too, but hope its not like dead similar
Dragon age is definitely an RPG worth your time if you aren't afraid of reading a lot.

Depends on what kind of games you like. Personally, I loved the Witcher. I didn't get to play it much (I had to give the game back to my friend at the [sp]swampy place. about 2 hours after starting the game[/sp]) but I loved every bit of it. The combat system is hard to get used to at first but once you master it it's a piece of cake. The dialogs are also made though the voice acting can get weird sometimes. There's also cards of nude women though you need an official patch for the american version! ;)
Hm, one could say that The Witcher is like a mix of a third person action game, in terms of gameplay, with Dragon Age or any other old-school RPG, in terms of non-combat stuff.

Don't buy The Witcher. Worst spent $30 in my history of gaming. Buggy game, shitty combat, unoptimized, poor graphics either way, stiff animations... It's just not worth it.
On the other hand, get Dragon Age: Origins. One of the best RPGs I've ever played. Worth every penny. It'll give you a minimum of 30 hours of fun (Or 45 if you complete sidequests and read all the dialog, and explore and shits). And with the expansion packs (DLCs) you can add another 20 hours. And the game is very replayable, because you can make a lot of different characters, so that's 100 hours of pure fun. Absolutely worth it.

You just said every part of The Witcher that was fixed with the Enchanced Edition apart from the optimization as it was already very optimized. :bravo:
What the hell are you talking about? The animations are really fluid
sounds good, thanks for both sides of opinion on the witcher, put me in a pickle, ahah, but i'll probably try it anyway seeing as though its just over a tenner, but i will definitely check out dragon age too, because it looks great and from what you've said its also a great game.

Borrow the games from friends if they have them. Dragon Age is amazingly good but can get boring if you spend too much time with the reading and talking. While you might be bored with the first chapter on The Witcher because from what I've read (and personal experience) it's the most boring part in any game. And it lasts for about an hour or so too.
The Witcher drags on for so long. And not in good way, in a "we're trying to make the game longer by adding pointless fluff" way. It's a good game, but you realize half way through the game that you're doing essentially the same thing since the start of the game but in different environments.
why would you buy a single player pc game
borrow it from friends or something
or you know, get it from linux distro hosting sites

but witcher was good in the enhanced edition directors cut US version
dragon age origins is great all around but get it on pc cause mods
