That could be said for americans too.
Why do we call it soccer?
Why don't we use the metric system?
Why is football called football if you use your hands most of the time?
The world may never know.
boo hoo, the portals look ovular and colourful.
Portal wasn't the first game to use portals, and in terms of gameplay, this again doesn't look anything similar to Portal.
That could be said for americans too.
Why do we call it soccer? The word soccer predates America's existance.
Why don't we use the metric system? The Imperial system is older than metric, we're just one of the 2 countries that hasn't switched over
Why is football called football if you use your hands most of the time? Handball was taken

And Japan doesn't steal things, they just milk the hell out of what they already have.
So that means portal, MW2, and TF2 are down. Any bets on the next game?
Using portals in a shooter could lead to some interesting situations. It doesn't really seem like a puzzle game, so it's hardly a direct ripoff.
I was going to post this a week ago, but yeah, the only similar things are the portals. Otherwise the game is nothing like Portal.
What the hell?
What kind of bullshit is this? Namely, what the fuck does this have to do with Portal? The only two similarities is that you can use portals to move around. Never mind the fact that this is only a small part of the game, as it is a TPS and quote, "Gate, unlike Portal, does offer a variety in playable characters and weapons." Hm let me see, a TPS MMO that has a number of different characters and weapons?
SOUNDS LIKE PORTAL TO ME

What a great day
Games are so poorly named. Most of the time for Korea it just involves (Insert noun) online.
Oh no a game with portals that isn't Portal. Seriously, Kotaku needs to stop making a big deal over things like this, there's nothing we can do about it.
MY GOD SOMEONE HAS USED AN ORANGE OVAL IN THEIR GAME CALL THE PRESS
.
.
no
Kotaku is loosing it's edge, that's why it posts random shit that no-one really gives a shit about.
this game does not look anything like portal at all, what the hell is kotaku talking about
The issue here isn't just portals — 2006's Prey had portals before Portal — but namely the color and the shape of them. What's more, in Gate players can make gates, portals, whatever á la Portal.
the portals in this game are pink and yellow, is the person who made this article even paying attention or did they just bash the keyboard a few times
