Which game would you suggest to buy. Starcraft 2 looks incredible and the multiplayer is really tempting but on the other hand I am a sucker for grand strategy games. So what do you think FP and why?

I would say vicky 2. I have been playing it for 3 or 4 weeks now and in all honesty it is much better than starcraft 2. Dont get me wrong, SC2 is good and all but vicky 2 will keep you occupied much longer.
Victoria 2, takes alot more skill, and is hard
But once you get the hang of it, you've got replayability to the max.
Don't expect the SC2 league to be a cakewalk, but the mp is fun in general if you play an unranked round with friends or just some fun maps. As a SC fan I say get StarCraft 2.

hahahaha did you seriously say that some lousy rts require more skills than Sc2? have you even seen the koreans? try beating them
Team Fortress 2
Team Fortress 2
Already have it. :)

>Victoria 2
>Lousy RTS
Ah ha. ha. ha.
This is proof of it- this guy wouldn't last twenty seconds in Victoria 2. Go for it- very satisfying game, especially if you're a Paradox fan. (Which i'm guessing you are, seeing as they pretty much own the genre)
Hmm...so I'm guessing Victoria 2 is very similiar to Europa Universalis 1 and 2, right?

You just spoke out your ass about a game you know nothing of, good job.

Have any of you Victoria 2 people actually played StarCraft 2?
SC2 also has those custom games, and some people are even making 3rd person shooters using the map editor...
Starcraft 2 is fucking great, the multiplayer is amazing.
Starcraft 2. Get now.
Starcrack III
no srsly
Starcraft II
Starcraft II if you're a micromanagement freak. If you have a slight interest in 19th century history go for Victoria.
StarCraft II. Better known game, and known as more of a competitive game.
I have personally played both and I much perfer victoria 2. Starcraft 2 is more well known but for me victoria 2 is better.
SC2 multiplayer is...I don't want to say it sucks because it doesn't but you'll be playing every round to win instead of having fun. But I gotta tell you, victories feel good
just fucking buy SC2
Why is this even a question? Starcraft II

I disagree, I'm having fun in SC2 even when I lose but it does bring out the competition in people.
I haven't played Victoria II so I'm not going to say SC2 is better but I will say that SC2 is awesome. The campaign is fun and I enjoyed the story but the multiplayer is really incredible.
victoria 2 is really great but it's still got some major bugs
don't buy paradox games at release

hahahaha did you seriously say that Blizzard could make a game harder then a Paradox Interactive does?
I can't really give a honest opinion about this because I never played Victoria II.
But if you're looking for a fun, fast and competitive RTS then SC2 is what you want.
I haven't played victoria 2 but if it's like any other paradox game once you get into it you can't stop playing, I'd say starcraft 2 but if you're really interested in deep massive scale games that can kill hours on hours then I'd say victoria 2.
I don't know i haven't played either of them
In my mind:
Victoria 2: If you are interested in 19th century history or you enjoy slower paced more uh grand strategy go with this.
Starcraft 2: If you enjoy fast paced games that can actually be quite stressful, go with this. I didnt really like the multiplayer because I know that within 6 months I wont stand a chance.
They are both very in depth but in my mind Victoria 2 is a bit deeper, and requires you to think diffrently.
I vote for Vicky 2

Also note that victoria 2 is only 40 dollars where starcraft 2 is 60.
Yep.
Oh, that's good then. In my eyes atleast.
Playing Paradox games often becomes very addicting. Probably even more so if you find a group of dedicated players to play with once in a while.

You could always play custom maps, which I found to be alot more fun than playing melee(usual gamemode) in Sc1 and Wc3.
Or you could practice against bots.
