Ok so after selling mw2 a while back I decided I was going to purchase it again for I missed the mp. After getting to the store and realizing the game was still full fucking price I forced myself to buy it. But upon returning home I realized I had forgot the main reason I sold it. It takes me 10 to 30 ( if Im lucky ) mins for the matchmaking to connect me to one game. So after sitting for 30 mins I actually manage to get onto a match if the connection is bad, well im just fucked. But when it come to the first modern warfare I can get a match in a matter of seconds no problem. Iv heard different suggestions about opening IP ports or making them static but I honestly have no idea of how to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe it's your connection? When my connection is somewhat low, it takes longer then when my connection is good. But I think 10-30 minutes you're exaggerating a little bit. It's not that bad...

I'm not exaggerating in the least bit. My connection is fine for the most part.
You have a closed nat with 10kb internet.

When you turn on MW2 and go to match making at the bottom left it should say Nat type: Closed/open.
If its closed or moderate do this.

I have the same problem but it's easy to get by just going to your recent players list and find a joinable game off of there.

It took me about 3 hours to figure it out but I got it. I felt stupid cause I was where I needed to be the whole time. My nat went from strict to open and Im now able to enjoy it. I really appreciate the help.
How do you change that setting?

I think mine is set to "strict" and it takes me a while. Also I keep getting Japanese players and people in New Zealand who are assholes.
Yeah that happend to me a while ago.. i just waited a month and it was gone.. Though that month was a hard time xD
