Dead Rising 2 Megathread

[i] What is it? [/i]
Sequal to one of the best games on Xbox 360 and Wii. Dead Rising 2 follows up on the zombie slaughter game in which Frank west was stranded in a zombie infested mall trying to get the story of a lifetime. But Frank is more involved than he thought and he slowly discovers that this zombie genocide was caused by terrorists. During the first game players could interact with any object in the game world. You could pound zombies down with bowling balls, dress frank in a dress or take a sports car though a zombie infested park.
Now with new graphics, character, zombies, engine and setting. About 600 zombies on screen. Oh, and motor bikes are confirmed. The game is coming to a PS3, Xbox 360 and PC near you. [b]Not Wii[/b]. Also take note that Dead Rising 2 is being developed in [b]partnership[/b] with Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. So it is still capcom :)

[b][u]Plot[/u][/b]
From what I can tell this game is set in a time people have learnt to live with the zombies. People feel safe enough with them to create a game show where contestants have to fight off the undead for prizes. Chuck is a contestant in this show. Something goes wrong, the zombies escape and infect the city and Chuck is left alone amidst a Zombie apocalypse. I guess you go around saving people who got stranded and people who have lost it like in the first one.[/release]

Looks fake, but the shakycam and distortion tries to helps it's case. The reused cutscenes of the Dead Rising beginning cutscenes where nobody had a videocam angle like that for news reports are odd. I've also been wondering about the Quinton Flynn sounding guy and the guy who says "Isabella Keyes"

I hope they fixed the whole weapon problem where when a gun runs out of ammo it "breaks" and can't be used again. I mean really you can not jsut pick up ammo for a gun huh campcom you have to find a new one!

I can't imagine it being anything other than the same old shit, I'm not saying Dead Rising is a bad game (even though I didn't like it) but I have a feeling it'll get old and boring real quick if they're just gonna remake it again in a new environment, but chances are they might make something awesome like online co-op which would definitely be worth it.

I never saw what was so good with Dead Rising. From what I played, it was just about getting lost, hard to read text, and beating zombies over and over again with a chair or some other random object. Fun for 5 minutes.
