Well, what do you think? Why do you think STALKER is better? Why do you think Fallout is better?
I personally like STALKER better, I enjoyed SoC and CoP. I didn't care much for Clear Sky. The atmosphere is what makes the game so enjoyable. At points, I felt as if I was IN the game.
I did enjoy Fallout 1,2 and 3. But they are more for console gamers, in my opinion.
I know I'm a noobfag :hurr:

Oh, this subject again.

:smug:
They are different in many ways
Fallout 3 feels like it should be a better game but then the animations butcher everything that it could have been.
I never could get into Stalker, it just never felt right.

Yeah, Bethesda used the Oblivion engine, which didn't have great animation. Only extensions for Cinematic cutscenes (eg: end of the game)
how can you even compare the two games this is a horrible idea for comparison
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
and I will take that to the grave with me. :colbert:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is probably the best game series there is in my opinion.
They are two different types of games completely, You can't compare them.
I like both, but if I had to choose, I choose Fallout.
They are different games with superficial similarities. Both have their own merits and flaws.

is this the part where i'm supposed to tell you the animations aren't a part of the engine
They are compared in my opinion, because they both have a post-apocalyptic setting. And not alot of games use that concept.

Yes it is, I have a mental disability. Please rape my face.

Not a lot of games have horse riding either. Should we be considering Oblivion to Barbie Horse Adventure now?
I'm going to go ahead and assume Fallout means Fallout 3 because you can't even compare STALKER to the first/second Fallout. The only things STALKER and Fallout have in common is radiation.
I'd choose any STALKER game over Fallout 3 at any time. The gamebryo engine is absolutely terrible, it's laggy, buggy, feels awful, combat is awful and it crashes more than unpatched SoC.

Stop comparing them.
Their very different...
S.T.A.L.K.E.R with L.U.R.K > Fall Out 3 > S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Honestly people say you can't compare to the two but essentially they're similar games. They're both post apocalyptic "survival" games where you take on the role of a survivor and you go through a ruined sandbox world to complete a story arc.
In terms of gameplay mechanics STALKER is more in depth, but honestly I think Fallout 3 is a more polished game. It also has a more robust and extensive modding community. Where as with STALKER I've only seen large visual update mods that don't change or add to the core game.
Combat also feels less clunky in Fallout 3 to me. So I found Fallout 3 more fun and I've gotten a lot more out of it, that said STALKER was a much more immersive game and really sucked me in at times.

This.
honestly its far easier to get into fallout 3 than any stalker game

I didn't like LURK, too many problems and lots of textures looked like arse.
AMK or OL is a better option.
Y'know. STALKER really isn't Post-Apocalyptic. Only Chernobyl is fucked up.
They really aren't at all similar, except that they both involve radiation. But if I just pick which one I like better, it's easily STALKER since I hate Fallout 3.
STALKER is more serious and is much more indepth while Fallout is more enjoyable and a sillier game.
As soon as I saw this thread I cringed.

Also Sabrina you're starting to make good posts and I like that.

Fallout 3 polished. Fallout 3 less clunky. STALKER only having visual mods.
Ha. Hahaha. Hahahaha.

I'm basing this on Fallout 3 release and Stalker:SoC release. In terms of polish and clunky combat Fallout 3's the lesser of two pretty shoddily made games. Don't even mention the voice acting.
And I've only seen visual/balance mods for STALKER. If there's some large database of really cool STALKER mods I'd love to see it.
A gritty awesomely atmospheric game or Fallout
